Understanding whether people "thrive or crack under pressure" is relevant. All of the things the troll is complaining about are VERY stress inducing. If we could learn to not crack, or to deal with stress in ways other than lashing out against those we percieve as "enemies", maybe we and our "enemies" would both live in less fear. Less fear all around leads to less violence, which leads to less fear, which leads to less violence...
Hopefully it also would allow us all the levelheadedness to adress our disagreements constructively.

Now only root can read or write the floppy and first USB drive, and any additional USB drives won't work. You might also want to not install a CD-ROM drive, and make sure "Boot from USB" is disabled in the BIOS.
(minus the space in dmask=0700, slashdot line length formatting...)
If it really matters to you that the drivers not be present, you can also turn off module autoloading and not put the USB mass storage drivers in your modules.conf
Abiword is slow on a Pentium III 800MHz, 384MB of RAM? Perhaps something is seriously misconfigured about your computer. It's pretty snappy on my old K6-2/300 with 128MB (Fedora Core 1, ReiserFS).
Isn't that what manditory auto (bike) insurance is for? Maybe it doesn't work the same way where you are, but here liability and medical expense insurance is mandatory for all motor vehicles. It's also (at least until the fascist provincial government privatizes it) provided by a crown corporation that is VERY good about documented medical expenses, and has reasonable rates for basic insurance. Own damage (repairs to your vehicle, even if you're liable) and fire, theft, and vandalism insurance can be had from ICBC (the crown corp), BCAA (like AAA), or private insurers.
And, after such a failure, you're already 0wned. So, you really have nothing internal left to protect at that point, and all there is to protect is the outside world. If your IT house is already on fire, it's sure nice to want to protect the neighborhood, but who's going to pay for that in advance?
Well, maybe only one machine on your LAN has been infected yet and you don't want them all to be.
I'd much rather deal with an FBI raid I know about than NSA scrutiny I don't know about.
You must not be in business. Here are your choices:
someone at CSIS might leak to your competitors that you're working on project X and it will be ready on Y date
Someone from the FBI busts in your door and takes all your computers, photocopiers, printers, books, paper files, disks, CDs, tape backups, etc.
Having no tools and no customer records can put you out of business really fast. Even if you've got backup tapes in a safety deposit box, they'll get a warrant for that too.
Before splurging on all this new gear, try two things:
Open a window. Clear out the stale air.
Get a new power supply. If it has a short, the high voltages can create ozone.
About a year ago I noticed that I got a headache if I sat in my office with the window closed for even a short time. After I got a new power supply it cleared up. I'm not normally chemically sensitive though, aside from perfume, pollen, and lactose.
Hybrids are better at stop and go traffic than conventional vehicles. On highways they are usually only slightly better, or the same as they can't use regenerative braking.
Hybrid technology may have room to grow, but escape is a ploy to seperate rich, stupid hippies from their money.
Is anything in the US not a ploy to seperate rich, stupid people from their money? Smart people can't be bamboozled easily into a frivolous purchase, and poor people don't have money to be seperated from.

Hunt 7 rabbits.
Godwin's Law!
That's way more complex than it needs to be.
Try making your fstab like this:

Does it matter?

Linux has had this since 1991.
Seriously, it's called fstab.
It's also a handy way of keeping confidential information from leaking.
Reminds me of the Spannish civil war.

They're also completely surrounding crowds to seal off any exit, ordering them to disburse, then arresting them for not disbursing.
What makes you think I'm there to witness? If I were in New York Witnessing mass arrests, I wouldn't be reading slashdot.
If you read the ACLU info you'll see that they're protecting everyone else who visits the nyc indymedia site.
The demands for logs were for ALL logs, not just logs related to this one posting.
For exactly this reason.
You can listen to streams of the RNC protest news Here (Portland IMC) and Here (A-Noise)
As I write, hundreds of people from the war resistors league march are being arrested, without a dispersal order or any charges.

What CPM or DOS can run on 1k ram?
Perhaps you meant 1MB, in which case, the answer is uCLinux.
Bah!
It's not nuclear fusion being bet on, it's Nulcear Fusion being used in a commercial powerplant!
There goes my get rich quich scheme. I was going to bet big on fusion, then point at the sun and hydrogen bombs.
Edit your fstab:
Then just mount it as the non-root user.
If you notice the infection within 5 seconds.
Well, maybe only one machine on your LAN has been infected yet and you don't want them all to be.
No.
HP got it to work on Linux and HPUX, but didn't have the source to Windows XP, and so couldn't implement it for windows.
Someone else asks if they've ever heard of firewalls, but this technology is intended to stop worms once they're inside your lan.
There should be lots of resources on the web on how to make your own telescope.

I'd mod this down, but I can't find the "inane babble" option.
