I was really excited to see the Xbox was adding a browser: We're cutting cable and the only were were going to miss were some shows on channels like Discovery. Figured I would stick a network-connected, cheap HTPC to the TV so we could surf discovery.com, etc. for the episodes that they put online. Only thing is, didn't want to spend cash to build the thing. New patch adds a browser? Cool. No need to stick another device on the network. But it doesn't support Flash which means it doesn't let us stream most things. Too many sites still aren't at HTML5 and so rely on Flash for video. As they say: Sucks to be me.

    > One of the biggest shockers to me is that the police chief is in strong support of this measure

Um ... why? Let's see, we've posted on ... what? Maybe 20 cases where cops have violated things like people's right to record them. (Have there been more? Sure. Not the point.) In how many of them have the police chiefs actually been directly involved, vice standing up for their officers until the state AG (or courts) told them their officers were wrong? Now figure out how many chiefs of police there are in the country. I think the vast majority of police do it for the right reasons, which makes me think the majority of police chiefs do it for the same reasons. Proof? None other than gut and working with the police for 20+ years in multiple capacities (including ones that would often be potentially antagonistic when I worked for newspapers). So while you may personally be shocked by the fact that the chief is in support of the initiative, I think it may (possibly) be an unfair bias.

"Supporting Brown ... assertions about the transition of narcissistic tendencies from business schools to business
organizations, Pepper (2005) reveals a concerning fact about narcissism in business leaders. While this quality is
often sought in corporate leaders, because the right dosage of narcissism can lead to optimal innovation, there is often
only a thin line that distinguishes brilliant thinking narcissists, such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey and
Jack Welch, who are also charismatic and visionary, from psychopaths such as Bernie Ebbers and Dennis Koslowski,
who use their skills in harmful ways that we have all come to witness in recent years. Andrews and Furniss (2009) take
it a step further and link excessive narcissism in business organizations to psychopathic behavior. They assert that,
perfectly matching to the description of a psychopath, these business executives are superficially charming, grandiose,
deceitful, remorseless, void of empathy, irresponsible, impulsive, lacking goals, poor in behavioral controls, and
    antisocial."
