With Google providing all the media, the library won't cost nearly as much to run since fewer people will be checking out books, CD's and DVD's. They can fire a few librarians and there you go, a few year's worth of salary saved.
Totally. You have zero security. Zilch. None. Seriously. That firewall you have? Nada. It doesn't protect you at all. That unprivileged user you're using? Nope, not gonna cut it. There is no security. Seriously. Nothing is adequate. Nothing. Your security, regardless of what system you run, is Totally Inadequate.
If it were written by one of those, maybe it would go something like this:
"Harry took the wang. He felt a sudden warmth in his fingers. He raised the wang above his head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls"
Now that the Nintendo Revolution has unveiled its melee weapon controller, it shouldn't be long until we're all beating hookers with lead pipes and experiencing all the glory that next gen gaming will provide us! Now that gaming hardware is catching up, it *can't* be long until DNF is relased, woohoo!!
I got an alpha hardware version of one of these bad boys and it came with a very handy extra that they assumed the end users wouldn't need: a de-bug port. Now I don't even NEED raid, but it's nice to have the option.
If the RIAA didn't make such popular music then there would be nothing to illegally download, so clearly they are at fault and must cease and desist their production of music products which can infect otherwise legitimate P2P networks.
That's pretty much how it works. That's how it was for me during a takeover at one of my pervious empoyers. They fired everybody except the head IT guy, at a 24 hour operation of 200 or so employees. Our systems were all getting messed up and nobody had any permissions to even defrag, scandisk or clean out temp files. We had permission to run two applications, one of which was the calculator. I nearly got fired for finding a workaround in the security in order to repair our workstations so we could get some work done....actually, now that I think about it, one of my workarounds involved l0pht, but that's beside the point.
I don't know how futile resistance will be to a guy who put Linspire *twice* in a list of what would've been 5 distros... He must really love it, and that's scary. That's the kind of guy who makes a simple story into a story of mythical proportions.
You left out that one time I left the pod on the nanoscope while I went to check the SVG tracks and the arm failed to retract before proceeding from wafer #1 to wafer #25, breaking the lot before I could get back to hit the emergency stop button. Sucks too, that was right after a fresh coat of polyimide, two or three steps before the end of the line. Must've been $150k worth of product in that pod. So, yeah, some of that money just goes right into the trash, or becomes a souvenir refrigerator magnet.. shhhh...;-)
Being a Python programmer, not a Perl programmer, I'm sure you won't be angry if I point out your syntax problem: you forgot the semi-colon. It's a common mistake though. The proper syntax is:
Dude, that kicks ass. I haven't used any of my iPods in linux because I didn't get one until after I had bought a Mac and relinquished my linux boxen to server roles, but it's cool to know that the functionality is there. In fact, I just sold an old 3g iPod to a friend of mine, I'll have to tell him to try that route since he's a linux guy. Awesome.
I've been using G2 since beta 2. There were 4 beta's and an RC, iirc. I've never seen anything like spam redirections, but then, I wasn't accessing it from Windows... =P G2 is great.
Unplug the power. I mean, we all know the most secure computer is the one that's turned off, right? And of course it should be locked up in a safe in a deep dark cavern protected by a dragon or something.
I'm kicking ass with the goto command:
GOTO FinishLine
Last time I saw mine was on hawaiian shirt day just before the weekend we started playing catch-up.
Looks like Allchin will be the one without a seat, unless Coach Z learns to say it right.

Take a look at this entry in the FAQ:
Will Google Secure Access work at other locations?
While Google Secure Access should work, we have not tested it at other locations.
That certainly says that they do not own the hot-spot, though it doesn't answer wether or not they will be putting up their own hot-spots as well.

*yawn*
Sure... whatever.

Yes, they are innovative. Clippy is the most innovative offering of its kind since Chinese water torture.

I had the same problem, except in foo.pl. Maybe my retarded. :(

I don't know which is funnier, the joke itself or the fact that it was modded 5+ informative! Haha, those /. moderators, what a bunch of kidders. :)

Some slashdotters might find this holiday to be enjoyable: International Talk Like a Pirate day. September 19th, only one week away!

Does that mean you want to trade?

Want to trade for a slow intel piece of crap?
Trying to release "Mini-Microsoft" or something, I'm sure.
It doesn't cost anything to 0wn a windows box and I've got a 10k strong botnet to prove it!
