They obviously are out of money and will probably die off soon.

  6. This movie sucks ass. [spoiler alert] on Review: A Knight's Tale · · Score: 1

It doesn't even deserve a review. The whole plot is pointless. Some wannabe knight guy, who's real name is william, wants to be champion in a tournament. Somewhere along the line, he finds this beautiful woman at church, and instantly 'falls in love' with her. She's a bitch though. Won't even give out her name at first. He's gotta prove his worthiness or something. So he leaves, not knowing her name. As he leaves, she and her friend start whispering, 'oh he's cute'. Blah, blah.... Later on, she starts attending these tournaments as a spectator. She's the prettiest one there, so all the knights try to impress her. But this william guy is special. He's not trying to win this 'for her'. So then she sends her friend to tell him her real name (she uses her friend chick as the 'messenger' throughout the movie). It is jocelyn. 'wow thats beautiful'. Ok, so now they go to the dance or whatever. Some point later in the movie, he says something to piss her off. Now he must prove he loves her by losing in the tournament. So he loses a match. Now she feels sorry for him and he must win now. Oh i forgot to mention there's this other guy that likes her too. he's the 'bad guy', cause he just wants her for sex. Ok, that's basically the whole movie. It's so predictable. There is no suspense at all. There were a few laughs though. Probably the most entertaining parts of this movie were listening to chaucer's announcements, and seeing jocelyn's nipples through her clothes. Other than that it's all shit we've seen before. The jousting was somewhat interesting also, i guess.

  12. Microsoft is just now posting this?? on Serious Security Flaw in MSIE 5.01, 5.5 · · Score: 1
This type of security hole has been known for at least 6 months by many people. If it's what I'm thinking, it is not just limited to email, but you can also be infected just by going to a web page. How do I know this? because it has happened to me. I did some research and sort of figured out how it worked.

Basically, when you open the html page, behind the scenes, it saves two text files to your computer, one is a debug script, and the other is the actual virus/trojan. How can a text file contain a virus? Well the first one is basically a hex dump of some executable. The offending web page then runs debug.exe, which is found on every windows computer, and reconstructs it into a .com executable. What it is is a UUdecoder. The actual virus/trojan is UUencoded. So the web page then runs uudecode.com or whatever, and reconstructs the trojan.. It is then ran.

So why not have debug.exe do the whole thing? well, debug only works with the .com format from the old DOS days, which is limited to 64kb in size. There are a few more things going on, but this is basically how it works.

Could this have been prevented in the first place? YES. Is it all Microsoft's fault? YES. Did microsoft have security in mind when creating Windows? NO!.

The music people need to stop whining about not making enough money. Do you really need 3 ferrari's, porche, and a bmw ? Well fuck you! The record companies either need to lower the price of their cd's, or start paying the artists some more. Oh, and if people don't wanna buy your music, if they want to download it for free, then I guess you all will have to get a real job, just like the rest of us.

  15. Re:Remember the DirectTV GAME OVER? on NSA Inside? · · Score: 1
First of all, don't believe the media. There was nothing that said "GAME OVER", like the AP reported it. Second, with the DirecTV thing, those small code changes were just fragments of executable code, not easily readable C code. So to figure out what directv was doing, you would have to have a pretty good knowledge of 8052 assembly as well as be able to read the machine code. Things of which not many people can do, especially when it's just one fragment at a time.

I'm sure that whatever the NSA has to offer would be checked pretty thoroughly before even being added to the kernel tree.
