Since the late Steve Jobs announced how he had 'cracked' the 'television problem' every major electronics manufacturer is panicking, afraid to get behind or miss out on a lot of patents. These horrible systems are a direct result of Apple disrupting the TV market. Reality distortion is still very much alive.
You are confusing the US for China.. Business here indeed have a rule of bringing only clean laptops into mainland China, since there were many incidents of hard drives being cloned by border security guards. Not so much in the US, although there have been incidents of government espionage beneficial to the US airplane manufacturers.
Next time I see legal insanity like this, I'm blowing a court house sky high. (for people with very small brains:joke and no intent to ever actually do this)
The really sad thing is that you had to explain that it was a joke, and still had to post as anonymous. Land of the brave, home of the free! What happened to you Americans!!
A bomb announcement on Twitter is not exactly the same as shouting 'Fire' in a theater, despite the desperate efforts to make you believe so. Nobody would have known of the tweet if the police wouldn't be wasting money and man hours on monitoring Twitter. Do they really think that the next OBL will announce his 9/11 on Twitter? Seriously? Is this false sense of security really worth having an accountant losing his job over? Is the only allowed way of communication now honest, straightforward and without double meaning? What a 'fun' society people must envision.
Most US-made products are illegal to be sold to Iran, both export- and import restrictions will apply. Defying such rules guarantees life-long trouble at the airport and when dealing with the government. A Russian antivirus company won't have such problems; theoretically they could be barred from the US and European markets for selling advanced technology to Iran but that seems unlikely at the moment.
Maybe you should read the whole thread before making complaints.
OP asked, seemingly as a rhetoric question, expecting no answer "can you please give a reference to one of these interesting content producers that only posts on G+ ?" To which I replied "Cyanogenmod?"
Same here. If OP has to enter massive amounts of numeric data he's best of with a regular USB keyboard. Cheaper than an external numpad and it will make the laptop last longer.
Not very likely, since copyright on logos and trademarks would also expire, for example the Windows or Apple logo. Imagine that everyone would be able to create a 100% clone of any given product after 5 years! They should create categories instead. 10 years seems to be so much more reasonable.
And why would Nokia choose a path where they were sure to fail? The guy filing the suit is a moron indeed. There's a reason it's called investing and not saving; there is a risk you lose all your money. He was free to sell his Nokia shares at the time. There was a chance that Windows Mobile would score big in the corporate world. It didn't.
Not only that. He flees from the US to some tax haven so he won't have to repay society for all the money he extracted. The thing is, he forgot that living in such cheap places come with certain downsides. This was one of them, wait until he gets into a car accident or desperately needs medical attention, he'll remigrate faster than the popups appear for his antivirus programs. Karma est meretrix.
My guess is that the features which were left out for either consuming too many resources while running, too many threads or memory, or for having use cases that were a nightmare. Tablets are not very secure and easy to steal. Perhaps they have bigger plans to address these left-out features in further servicepacks, so Win 8 SP2 will be the version to look out for.
The question is, is he actively marketing it in the US? Or is it just that there are people from the US ordering it through the internet? In the former case, the court has jurisdiction. In the latter, well, then the US might as well start policing the entire planet. IANAL ofcourse.
Now, if he's suing because the guy used his speil, word-for-word, or because the guy took Teller's video and photoshopped his own head over it, then you'd have a copyright case. As it is, he's saying that nobody may copy what actions he performs. That's like a dancer saying you can never dance like he does, ever, without his permission.
What about people making a living by imitating famous persons, eg Michael Jackson? This whole lawsuit is bogus.
The federal marijuana ban came on the heels of the repeal of prohibition.
Marijuana was banned to promote the use of Nylon over Hemp under heavy lobbying of the Dupont group. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_history_of_cannabis_in_the_United_States Public health and safety have very little to do with that.
TFA mentions Canada.
That's like using US for Canada

It's only software. In a car analogy, it would be like changing the seats, wheels or radio, voiding the warranty.
I am currently checking out all his sites to see if there's a newsletter I can subscribe to

you forgot the first rule of usenet.
I'm not sure that the best way to stop an overly complicated system with too many loopholes is by adding more rules.

God forbid a company is making profit selling commercial software in the EUSSR!

From the perspective of an expert user, Emacs is the superior tool.
