I'd wager a large bet that it was one of the parents or other older relatives who jailbroke the first device. Perhaps even someone related to an Apple engineer. And the other kids follow the example. How many kids did you have in high school who were able to break encryption? As companies have grown up, hacking nowadays requires a lot more skill, knowledge and specialized equipment than in the 70's or 80's.
I haven't seen MS distributing rootkits with its hardware products. So definitely less hostile. I swore to never buy anything from Sont again since the rootkit fiasco, and have kept to that.
At least he's not lying about himself or his intentions. If anything, he's been absurdly honest. Just look at his licence plates, or one of his bragging pictures.
Still just a symptom of another problem. Four decades ago, these people would have been watching TV all day and night and get into trouble because of that. In less developed parts of the world, where goods such as a house, electricity and a laptop, are harder to hold on to, these people would probably develop a into the religious zealot type. These persons just have less self control over their actions and then proceed to blame the symptoms for their own shortcomings. Like a fat person blaming McDonalds. Or a rapist blaming the pretty girls. You might even find this in the DSM under the label OCD.
Based on my location I have at least 5,000 years of pest-free life ahead. I'm also guessing that the rate in which it moves north and southward will decelerate over time, so bring it on!
the selfish and short-sighted people who want global warming to continue
The debate is centered around the question whether a rise in temperature is caused by men, and if the current trend is upwards. As there has been no change in temperature in the last 10 decade. But thanks for the compliment.
So what is the problem? Some people will always be happy to find a time sink. If the internet didn't exist these 'addicts' would be eating, watching TV, gaming or taking illicit substances all day. So easy to blame the time sink when these problems are rooted much deeper.
It's all about natural gas. There are plans to build a gas pipeline from Qatar to Europe through Syria and Turkey. Currently, Europe is drawing gas from Russia. A pipeline would diminish Russia's power greatly as they have used it for political gains a few times in the last years. Syria, a strong partner of Russia, opposes this pipeline. Who is the biggest sponsor of the jihadis fighting Assad? Qatar. The EU would be very happy to have this pipeline, as well as the US, as it would strengthen the NATO. As a European, it seems like a choice between two evils. Either start a war in the middle east with an uncertain outcome, or have our gas supply at the whims of a Russian 'president'. But what's really depressing is that none of the media, not western nor elsewhere, is reporting about this. It's all about the children in Syria.
Funny how the US always criticizes other countries for human right violations and references their constitution as a safeguard against government abuse. Meanwhile, state agencies are collecting information on the entire internet population and handing it out to foreign governments to aid oppressing their population. The irony!
So they factored in the costs for extra support, downtime, conversion, training and lower productivity, and the end sum is a 12,50 change in price per pc. Most people get office training in their education, but now all new users will have to follow training or the unions will start complaining. They might as well take a pc with a smaller hard drive or without a dvd drive for the same cost saving, and do without all the trouble which comes with open source in enterprise organisations.I predict a rollback to Office (or to another open source office suite if they are stubborn and anti-MS) within the next 3 years. Open source office suites are like Chinese knock-offs. They may look similar to the real deal from the outside but once you start working intensively with them they start to degrade quickly.
US President Barrack Obama has been quoted saying "since this NAND type RAM is such basic knowledge and essential for producing smartphones, Samsung should provide it for free to US companies, starting with Apple since they are already violating their precious design IP."
I'd say that this would be ample reason for the US Government to retract Infosys' permit for handling any H1B contract and conduct a criminal investigation on grounds of systemic discrimination, conspiracy and fraud. Bye bye Infosys.
but being a contractor you have no legal ground to sue, so you're screwed. maybe you should have accepted that perm position instead of thinking with your wallet!
you are right on the spot. I have been replaced by incompetent junior IT personnel from Tata Consultancy (same kind of shop as Infosys) at a large nationalised bank in the EU. They don't care about what you can or cannot do. They don't even care about the hourly rate. They only care about executing their contracts; which means flying in as many junior IT people as possible to replace locals. The bank still pays about the same rate, the difference is that the newly hired people are crammed in to little houses (6-8 persons per house), they have to cook their own lunch because they cannot afford the company restaurant, and are generally unfit for working in western culture. Then after 6-12 months when the visa expires they replace the team with a fresh batch of juniors and the cycle begins once again. The management layer sucks up the difference between paid rate and paid salary, which is huge. It all smells like corruption and discrimination but being an independent contractor I don't have any solid ground for legal action. However, I am still in touch with some of the remaining staff and I have been informed that the whole IT ecosystem is becoming such an amateurish mess that they are already reconsidering. Too late in my opinion.
I always tell people I'm the newly appointed VP when they catch me around offices I shouldn't be.
Didn't the guy give an interview to Forbes in August? These dates don't match up.

Why would it? I have upgraded my galaxy tablet with each new Android version and it becomes faster each time.
Showing how reproduction works is 'behaving abominably'. But it's ok to present graphic violence as 'entertainment'.
Please post a pic of them on twitter and get them fired, that should help your cause.
Imagine what good can happen when the government and insurance companies get hold of this data, no thanks.

That is called 'socialism'. It will increase until there is nobody left to pick up the bills.

The Internet is free, legal and fat free

Actually, there is a game like that, Game dev tycoon, which even makes your game studio go broke because of piracy if the actual game is pirated.

ever seen 'this advertisement is not available in your country'
Try viewing trailers for US shows and movies from outside the US.. The recent trailer for Breaking Bad comes to mind.
Samsung has an iTunes clone called KIES. Same level of crapware.
In fact, I'd say what's unethical is the fact that US tax rates are as unfairly and insanely high as they are
US tax rates are ridiculously low compared to other developed nations..

FYI infosys looks for cheap employees for clients who do not value I.T. and want to pay rock bottom wages with no benefits.

there, fixed that for you.
