    uh you know that your code doesn't work no more, right? I'd mod you as funny, but I don't know if you're serious.

    while(lp) {
    struct listelem *next = lp->next;
    free(lp);
    lp = next;
    }
    What is more, your solution to the problem is futile in this case because we already know that lp is not null, otherwise it would have left the while loop, and if you set lp to null, you cannot take the next element to it (well you can because of deferred freeing, or just that the memory is not yet reallocated, but it's a BAD THING). Come on, linked list 101. And the error is quite classic back in 1996. Detecting it is not as easy as you put since the program can run without segmentation fault in normal environment.

    From standby I agree. From boot up, only to load the BIOS it should take 3 seconds. Never configured a Windows to boot completely in less than 1 minute (logged, functionnal). Sure first installs can get that kind of performance, but I never use a freshly installed windows. Installing Office and an anti-virus slows my system bootup time greatly.

No, I won't use VxWorks or QNX as a desktop. Good for you if you do, but I'd like to know how you achieve such performance with conventional desktop OS.

    This is under development by major virtualization companies. VMWare supports it for windows as guest (in beta), and Parallels has said that it was under development for a future release. This is harder than it looks though, since you have to develop a full blown 3d driver for windows and Linux (used inside your virtualized environment) that will send the calls to the host operating systems, in the case of windows transferring DirectX calls to the OpenGL API. If you want to stay generic (to work on both hardware nvidia and ati), you have to limits the possibilities of the card, or else you'll have to make a driver for each type of card you want to support. That's the theory.

    The main problem is that many people overreact to mundane things and see sexual behavior where there is none.Why do you always have to bring the discussion to Michael Jackson?

    Or how many people were shocked by the desperate attempt of getting some attention of a singer that flashed her naked breast in a national event in the US.There, now his sister!

    In my opinion the more you forbid, the more something is prohibitedSeriously, I have to disagree with you. Here in Quebec (French Canada) we have a law that forbids writing things in only one language if this language is another one than french. So, you have to put something in french, or it's illegal. BUT, there is a right that if you had something that was illegal before the law (say a restaurant title), you don't have to change it as long as there is no official complaints. Today we still have some restaurants and bars which still have non-french names or ensigns, and nobody cares really.

    I know it's a different case, but I think the kind of behavior you're talking about is specific to United States. Europeans have seen breasts on ads since a long long time and nobody ever complained really. Kissing a guy on a cheek is not a problem there or even here. Asking "how are you" to a total stranger is a habit here, and most people will listen if he has something to say when asked. Different cultures...
