After frying in this order:
1). 1 x 20G IBM drive, (replaced with a Quantum)
2). 1 x dual motherboard GA-6BXDS
3). 1 x Matrox G400
4). 1 x dual motherboard GA-6BXDS (the above, RMA-ed)
I think that it might've been the power supply, waay-way undersized (230W for a duallie monster with tons of SCSI devices inside).
Bottom line is: GET A REAL POWER SUPPLY!
Getting a cheap one is like asking for troubles.
The fun part comes especially when something croaks right after the warranty expired. I've been there!
Sure... no - wait a minute - it's not 2005 it's Q4 of 2005... oh no - damn - it's Q2 or most probably Q3 or 2006. OOps! it was actually Q4 of 2006 but we had to recall all the chips because of a nasty bug - amazingly similar to "F00F" one.
Please excuse us and oh - by the way - did we tell you that we finally released P]II[ yesterday?!
Thanks but no thanks... You can keep your browser and I'll have my Netscape 4.76. Which happens to work juuust fine (for some values of "fine")
I don't have much of a bandwidth to waste with crap and I'm already too tired about spam. Getting it willingly is not something I'd do even if I was drunk.
On the other hand - you can get the names for the sites it uses to get the ads and map them in your/etc/hosts as aliases to 127.0.0.1 - and there - you're done - I know that because my/etc/hosts has some nice aliases to a bunch of sites with ads!:)
Heh - Perl - it isn't called for nothing "the Swiss Army Knife" of the sysadmin.
I was using first shell-scripting (and I still do - for very small jobs) but once I've seen the light - well - my whole existence changed. I may not write very legible code (by the letter of the book/man/info) - but I'm slowly getting there.

Nope - nothing "great" but "quantum":) - still rather close to the reality:) Quantum Dot-Coms:)
Same size, eating same amount of money:) do you sense a pattern here?:)
Proposal: Let's all send urine samples on the IOC address... they should know what to do with it. Just to let them know that those watching Olympic games on the net are not as much on crack as they are:)

Naah... if one gives the right answer (which I don't believe it will happen from the first person) move onto the next one... though I hardly think he'll have to look much time for an idiot - US are full of them:) and they have some proportions - you can't miss one

Intel pulled off their processors - then Transmeta does it with 300 pieces of their processors - and now IRIDIUM! AAAAAA!!! What are we going to do?! Where to hide?! What will be left of us?! Who's going to maintain the Linux Kernel!?:)
And most important - is the last backup of my DivX collection recoverable?!:):):)
Wouldn't they like it? oooh - they'd love it. after all it would only give them more arguments to say "See - out OS is better - who do you call when everything is falling apart?"
They all seem oblivious to one thing - it is the nature of things to evolve and branch - Darwin was right!:) Survival of the fittest!
Hey - look on the bright side - Engineer-in-a-Box 6.0 will know how to read email :)
And in one of the future versions - a dancing paperclip will be introduced.
