  1. GamesMania - A Bell Canada Service on Games on Demand · · Score: 4, Informative

The canadian telephone company, Bell Canada, has been offering games-on-demand for some time now. The service is very inexpensive, and there are 100+ games to choose from. The download speeds are exceptionally fast. What's interesting is that they apply all the latest patches to the games already, and they even test extensively for operating system compatibility. How cool is that? Makes you wonder what those US telcos have done for us lately...

The service is available at gamesmania.com

  4. Inquire about the instructor's credentials... on Upgrading Training and Certification? · · Score: 1

These technical training centers will try to sell you on everything from class schedules to tasty snacks, but make sure you ask about the instructor who will be teaching the class. They'll be the most important factor, since you said you learn by demonstration.

There are instructors that use the text as an outline for conveying their knowledge, and there are other instructors who will simply sit and read it aloud word ... for ... word. The first class day will be introductions, so you won't know which you have until you've lost your opportunity to get your money back. Ask in advance!

An instructor should have some teaching experience, but they also need real world experience. Technical knowledge outside the simple lab examples will be very valuable, and it will rub off on the topics they present to the class.

High-quality technical talent is not impossible to find these days, so it is really a matter if the institution wants to hire talent, or not.

I've always used my real name as my "handle". At first it was because I couldn't think of a clever nickname, and later because I didn't see any reason to change it. We live our lives, and I don't see a reason to be embarrassed about it. Frankly, many large ISPs monitor and record your Internet activities anyway, so people using aliases aren't completely anonymous anyway.

Like the contributer of the story, I have also often wondered why watches do not use these readily available radio signals to keep and display accurate time.

    - Their DVD selection was very impressive. Think Amazon.com.
    - NetFlix provides a rating system that they use to generate rental suggestions.
    - Customer service never responded to emails, but I did see changes possibly due to my suggestions.
    - NetFlix took seven business days to deliver to Atlanta. (i.e. Needs an East Coast distribution center.)
    - They charge state tax even without local presence.
