I don't use much data. I think I average under 50MB per month, as most of the time I have wifi access. If I travel, I can easily upgrade the plan for that month and downgrade afterwards. This is very convenient.
So people who scream 300MB is not enough, shut up and use 3GB for yourself. Leave the rest of us alone and let us choose what's the best value for ourselves.
Nobody prevents anyone wanting "open" textbooks from promoting their solutions. Just because they didn't/haven't/cannot, doesn't mean that they should stop Apple from push theirs. What Apple has may not be perfect (if there is such a thing), but it's light years better than what we currently have.
If Android gang cannoot wrap up their lazy asses and get this done, don't blame Apple on doing this first. I am not an Apple fan but kudos to them for trying to do something new.
I guess Google learns something or two from Chinese government. In China, when some government employee is involved in some scandal or PR disaster, the government would claim he is just a "temporary worker". Your excuse smells about the same.
Now a lot of idiots beleive that fragmentation is the differences between UI's. This is false as UI's make no difference to the way applications behave.
So why the Android Design or Style Guide thing if it has nothing to do with how the apps behave?
Google: Join G+ now, or you will find yourself extinct on the Internet! Facebook: Sign up now, or you will die in a friendless, dark basement. Twitter: Follow us now, if you don't want to be followed!
in practice developers don't seem to be having too much trouble with the fragmentation issue
Exactly. iPhone 4 provides automatic scale up of apps designed for non-retina screens, and it works great, right? So all this "fragmentation" thing is just imagination and FUD, right?
A phone is not just measured by hardware spec. It's the total user experience, including hardware, OS, and apps. If you only care about spec, you should not have joined this discussion that is all about software.
Yes I want freedom and install whatever I want. No I don't want those malware! No I don't really understand what it is when I click 'install now'. But yes I really want to install whatever I want, freedom remember? No, I don't want to get a virus or something like that. When I say install, I mean install! No, I don't want to be locked in a walled garden. No I am not an idiot, you idiot!
One wonders what that means: is it an agency against serious organized crime, or is one to commit the crime itself?
Because you don't RTFA
It'd be nice to just say "guide me to the closest parking spot" and the phone would just talk directions..
At least it's not SPYW..thanks God.
Yes, unlike everyone else. I am shocked, SHOCKED!

Stupid.

How was this modded "Insightful"?

Apparently not 24/7/365 since you are posting on slashdot
This is ITC, not the ordinary court.
Behind-door meetings with corporate sponsors who brought this bill to his table and deciding what to give up to pass the rest of it.

Americans bitch about their jobs not being satisfying, and then bitch about how all those jobs get outsourced.
I can come up with a few:
Google: Join G+ now, or you will find yourself extinct on the Internet!
Facebook: Sign up now, or you will die in a friendless, dark basement.
Twitter: Follow us now, if you don't want to be followed!
Have you counted how often a new ANDROID phone comes out in the market?
Oh right, you lost count, because there are freaking too many.

Raise your hand if you read it as "Nonsense Could Help Reduce Laboratory Animal Testing" the first time.
Have you counted how many DNAs in one pound of Salmon?
So your point is...

Fallout only runs on a future version of Windows. They will call it Windows Nuclear Ultimate many years later.
How about upgrade my XP when the Internet is upgraded to IPv6?
That's why I don't trust this industry. "GoDaddy", can it be more porn? And "Namecheap", say no more!
Let's pass another SOPA: Shutdown Obscenity and Pornography Act.
And GoDaddy is the first to go down. The entire company name is screaming "Porn". It's a shame we allow it to exist.
