The user interface provided by Nokia has from their early days been very hard to understand - at least for me, and that has put me off from using Nokia. And that has been on their simpler models.
As for Ericsson/SE - the best models were the earlier models - like the SH888/I888 - built like a tank and reliable.
Nokia and Ericsson (SonyEricsson) USED to make good phones, but neither are up to the quality and functionality that customers expects when it comes to the software. However Microsoft aren't there either with their phone operating systems. Reboot the phone at least once per week to keep it sane.
A different judge - one that can be bribed, but it may only take one that doesn't understand the concept of Open Source.
Don't forget that cases like these are executed by lawyers and they can be extremely sticky and slippery at the same time if they can sniff out a huge pile of money. They don't need to win the case to get the money - just get paid by the hour. A long case with a "customer" with little sense and deep pockets attracts lawyers like a pile of fresh cow dung attracts flies.
The problem comes when IRS or your corresponding tax collection organization for your country decides that the system needs a certain feature.
Here in Sweden you must have a certified cash register these days that frequently sends information about your sales to the tax authorities. All to try to trap the companies evading taxes - often restaurants.
Make sure that she is disqualified from the upcoming election.
And find every other Sarah Palin in the US and make them file a complaint to USPTO about this requiring them to not make a trade mark out of that name. I strongly suspect that there has to be a few namesakes around with that name among the 308,745,538 or so citizens of the US.
True to some extent - but even if it does request something like internet access - what is it doing with my internet access? How much traffic will it generate? It may produce a humongous amount of traffic raising my phone bill to astronomical figures. This applies to everyone not on an unlimited agreement or as soon as international roaming occurs.
The question is sometimes like "Hey I need a hammer" - no real reason why the hammer is needed.
And if it wants to access your contacts - which part of the contact information is it going to access - and why. Maybe it's an app for chess and it allows you to do network chess with a friend.
Isn't it better to ask the question: "What did you learn from this project?"
That may be the critical key - if they can't tell what they did learn then they know that they need to better themselves.
And when starting a science project it's important to tell the students that failure is an option - it's not the result that is important but the road to the result. So even if the result is a puddle of clay oozing out of a box when it should have been a pot the student shall be able to tell why it was that way. Not being able to understand why is the real failure. Real science is a lot of failures and a few successes.
As a reminder. WD-40 is the 40th variation of a lubrication able to be used in Wet and Dry circumstances. The previous 39 ones wasn't good enough.
To post this on the web? Potential for grave robbers is incredible in that area. And those may be extremely interesting from an archeological point of view.
"The number you have dialed is not in use"
One byte per person on an average.
Because some of them have been registered through scientists.
You didn't find the right FTP site back then, but it was like Fight Club - Nobody talks about it.
I didn't know that that floppy object was replaceable.
It's no problem being in the middle if you control the network - like if you are a government.

"Cease and Desist" letter is now coming.
"no OFF switch" - makes me think of Max Headroom.
I will certainly avoid that chipset if I can.
AMD will probably be preferred for upcoming purchases.
As for last point - won't work if the domain buyer is located outside the US with different legislation. The courts may not even bother then.

Don't forget 2-letter ones like HP. Too bad that they discontinued the HP15C. :(
See above - I did accept that I was wrong. Unfortunately /. doesn't allow editing old posts.
I stand corrected. But the point still stands - 39 failures before a success.

Northern Alaska would be fine - even if you escape you may have to cross an area where polar bears roam.
As for the phone problem - locate the prisons in areas without phone coverage and the problem will be solved.
And if the prisons are in an area with a low population density the chance of a successful prison break is a lot lower.
And why not add a solitary confinement penalty for anyone caught with unapproved items? One month in isolation would be a deterrent for most.
If this scheme seems to work other games will follow - as will other publishers.
So by avoiding buying the games you are sending a clear signal to the publisher that this is method that isn't acceptable.
And what happens if there is a DoS attack on the servers?
Wouldn't this be great for spammers too that needs to provide a verification email account?
I'm just waiting for sites that sets up rule that verification can't be done through hotmail and that that you need to provide another email account.
Those huge sites like hotmail and gmail are great catch-alls for spammers too.
Isn't that what first amendment is about - you shall not risk being punished for speaking your opinion. And losing your job is one of those cases.
So if you are a government employee speaking out and get fired you may have a case.
