Of course you wouldn't have to work to pay for repairs your ship, or for fuel, or even food and clothes for your family. It would be a dream come true, you would meet friendly races along the way that would just give you everything you wanted for free.
1. Unions were not allowed to donate to political parties (ie 100% of the union dues had to go right back to the members).
2. The union leadership was volunteer (not paid).

Which came first, The high prices for games, or Gamestop. From what I see, the only reason Gamestop exists is to fill a need in the market. If the Game developers wanted Gamestop to cease to exist, all they have to do is lower the price of there games to the point where reselling them is pointless.
Personally I don't buy games until they have been out for a year or two so that the price comes down to about $10, then I keep the game forever. If new games only cost $20 I think Gamespot would find it very hard to stay in business because the resale value of games would be greatly diminished. I really don't think many gamers would trade in a game for $5. However when games cost $70 and you can recover $50, trading in a game is a lot more interesting.
Games, movies, music, etc are not sold, they are licensed, and only to the original purchaser. So it would make sense for the license to not include resale rights, or to require that each subsequent purchaser also license the content from the producer of said content.
And how would the price come down? The price of a car or house is made up of the cost of parts and the cost of labor, which of those two would go down so the house or car would cost less? Like computers there is not a lot of overhead/wiggle room in those markets. How many house builders do you know that make multi millions? Most of the ones I know struggle to make ends meet just like I do. If there was a big markup in housing those builders would be sitting on piles of cash.
When I first started my current job (7 years ago) I was setting up the voice mail and noticed that there were already messages in the voice mail. Out of curiosity I listed to them thinking that if they were important I could forward them to someone who could help. What I found was astounding. It was a womans voice and the message she left was very explicit. I went and asked the IT department who had owned that voicemail before I started and it was some guy that quite a few years before. Anyways I deleted the messages, but I still remember that it was funny.
I agree with previous posters that you really need to keep your personal stuff on personal computers, I remote desktop into my home computer to do personal stuff (buying things, facebook, ebay, etc) so that my work computer does not have a trail.
On the state level, where it is suppose to be. If I don't like the laws of one state I can move to another. If I don't like the laws of the federal gov, I am kinda stuck. The Fed is suppose to regulate trade between states and defend us from invasion. Everything else is for the states to decide.

Actually you described using the quick launch feature. Pinning is a bit different. To pin something to the taskbar you right click it and choose "pin to taskbar" This is not the same as using quick launch because it does not create a new icon on the taskbar when the program starts. This reduces the number of icons using up space since you will only have one (with quick launch you have two or more, one for quick launch, and then another for each running instance of the program)
My price point for game is $10, and this is only for full games on disk. For download games I won't pay more than $5. I mostly buy games used (GameFly is great), but every once in a while I will run across a great sale, or something and I can pick up a new game for $10 or less. For example, just a couple weeks ago I bought Batman Arkham city ($10), Rage($5), and BulletStorm($5) new for $20 total at Best buy. I always wait for the Xbox live games to go one sale before I purchase them.
If the console makers force out used game sales I will either not buy a new console, or I will wait a couple years until there are enough old games that have come down in price to keep me busy.
I have been using page plus and it is great. They use the Verizon Towers, so coverage is great. You get to bring your own phone, I am using the Droid Incredible, and it is prepaid, so no contract, overages, or other hassles. And best of all it is dang cheap. I get 1200 minutes, 3000 texts, and 100mb of data for $29.95 a month.
I even switched my wife to it last week when her Verizon contract ended. She went from paying $45 a month for 0 data, 0 texts, and 450 minutes, to the same plan as me. She is loving it.
I am exactly the same. I bought an iPad2 and had it for about 3 weeks before I returned it and got the Transformer with keyboard dock. I have never looked back.
When was the last time you were in Utah? I have lived in Utah for 3 years and every blockbuster I have been to has carried R movies. I lived in California for 20 years before I moved out here and I have not noticed the slightest difference in internet content or movie selections.
Costco uses CO2 when it fills my tires, which does not change with temperature. So I have not had to fill my tires for a long time.
