guarentees that the behind-the-scenes interest, economics, and even politics driving the people who actually work on a project like DragonFly or *BSD, or Linux, has nothing whatsoever to do with what you might read in the popular press (which is consumer-centric).
The bottom line is that *BSD is dying. It's losing out in terms of developers to Linux and losing out in market share to Windows. For all practical purposes, *BSD is dying.
8. Currently the installation of DragonFly is very manual. What plans do you have for the installation procedure?
It is mentioned in the story: Suits currently filed against John Does will have actual names attached once subpoenas get the names of the actual persons
don't fret too much. that was already announced to be coming in the 10.3.3 update. check out macrumor's post about that nearly a week ago.
Key changes listed include improved file sharing and directory services, PostScript and USB printing, font management, updated Disk Utility, DVD Player, Image Capture, Mail and Safari applications and updated drivers.
yet you fail to realize, i believe, that social security has failed. when it was first created, the ratio of working contributors to retirees was very high. however, now in the present day the ratio has fallen to the point of being barely beneficial (as bad as 3:1? not too sure on the exact number) better start investing in a retirement fund. those are very profitable, and they are protected from things like lawsuits.
i use my 40 GB to store lots of music, and i use it as a very convenient external hard drive. i can afford it so i have no wallet-aches, and with that said it's more convenient than swapping CDs (no headaches)
I had a 12 inch powerbook covered by Applecare and the initial one year warranty. One rubber foot came off. I called the 800 number for applecare and they sent me a set of four bottom feet and two for the lid, glue, and instructions without any charge and very quickly. I was too lazy to do that and so i went to the nearest apple store and didn't even bring the stuff that i got in the mail, they just glued the one that was without any question. maybe it just depends on who you happen to talk to. this all took place over thanksgiving break of 2003 i believe. maybe a few weeks earlier, can't remember for sure.
Please mod this guy up. What so many people discussing this topic right here seem to forget is that learning organizing techniques, practicing self-control, and similar all play a role in the success of someone taking ritalin or concerta for ADD/ADHD. Everyone is different, and everyone has varying degrees of this condition. And those that completely criticize the option of medication who do not have ADD/ADHD nor work/interact extensively with someone do not exactly have fair ground to argue such a point. Ohh, and now that I discovered I can moderate now for the first time ever I'll do it myself:P
all i know is that if i see chewbacca and he is some fake looking computer rendered model and not some tall dude in a costume i am gonna walk right out of the theater.

you're absolutely correct. i rode the Ave in spain from madrid to seville. completely silent. not a single bump. my only objection is the almost complete lack of non-smoking sections. it's absolutely disgusting inside with regard to air quality.
To not display "adult-content" banners is an option in the preferences that you can turn off. About 3 or 4 years ago when I first signed up it used to be multilingual and the non-german web interface was very simplistic and quick. When they switched to German-only they said that they could no longer maintain the multilingual service and I had to use the bloated German language interface that used to be only on gmx.de, but I still prefer it over most webmail services.
I've been using GMX for four years. I started using it way back when it was a multilingual service, but now it's only in German. It has a really good spam filter setup. When it filters an incoming email into the junk folder it indicates whether it was from a global antispam list, text scan, etc. Sadly though the free accounts don't have things like secure sign in.
definitely. it'd be much cheaper to just FIND a windows pc somewhere instead of paying quite a bit of money for virtual pc. at the apple website it's about 130 dollars alone, not including the os pack which would be i think another hundred dollars or more. you could probably buy a mac os x piece of software for that price to get the job done, not to mention perhaps there are other suitable free programs too.
of course it's the rubber hitting the road. here in michigan the road commission made a serious mistake in implementing a "new" type of cement that was supposed to last longer. however, it turned out it didn't last long(er), in fact it did the opposite. and worst of all it had rivets perpendicular to the tires moving over it creating an obnoxious howling noise. i've seen more the one local news coverages on pissed off people living nearby highways that have to put up with terrible noise pollution.
i don't think spilling liquids on it and things of that nature are covered. then the cost of a new powerbook of the respective model would cost as much as a can of pop.
i hope that metamoderation will fix it. but eh, shit happens.

I'll just continue using my neighbor's cable internet for free.

the user of the mouse could be in lecture hall making a presentation with laptop hooked up to a projector.

actually i've heard that telemarketing companies make a profit if they have as little as one successful call per every 500 calls.
It's only 69.99 with the educational discount for those in high school, college, etc. That's how much I paid for it.

eh. i noticed also that his means a change in RAM prices. i think it'll now be cheaper for buying 512 and up for the 12 inch.
no, michigan is definitely not southeast for DTE's 2.1 million customers lost power.
