Exactly, cause when you put that horse on the track on Friday, you might not be able to get off till Monday, because every other horse is there.
Unless you have a dump-truck.
I think the US imperialistic tendencies are seeping out.
Like Britain(India, Ireland), they are convinced that they know better then the rest of the world.
The US is happy legislating its morality. As long as you have the US as the only super power, it truly is the west against everyone else. In the US they arrested and jailed the owners of a 3 day old online-poker law.
The US decided that even Credit Card companies that are making payments to these 'scum of the earth' would be held liable. Even after the WTO slapped them for it. They even tarried the crap out of our softwood lumber, aing that it was somehow federally subsidized. They took billions. WTO agreed with us.. but that still didn't matter. Good luck getting them to do what is right. But we MUST bow to the almighty walmart.
No its called OSX! I love my MAC, I need my windows box for school.
There is no version of Multi-Sim, Not to mention one of my project servers at school suck donkey-nuts, it only allows IE. Grumble.
See the above posts for that whole sleep mode. It rocks. The only time that I was frustrated was because, the wireless needed a moment to re-acquire. I can probably wake up my Imac, do check Slashdot and put it back to sleep in the time it takes for windows to wake.
They use video-support, so they can all see what the camera sees.
Being this low-power, and compact, I think they will start buying them. 11 inches might be a little too big. However, I would think that isn't a biggie.
Not to mention to contrast ratio will be a hit with the still-photographers. They shoot digital as well. They will be getting a better idea of how this will work.
Since cable bandwidth is shared, wouldn't the time of the test matter? I've noted (very unscientifically) that my Internet seems slower between roughly 7-9pm (on Charter in Los Angeles area). I look at the difference between cable and dsl as 2 different ways of getting to a train-station.
Cable might be like taking a bus to the station. There might be other people there. However, its not that significant.
Dsl is like taking your car or a cab to the station. It definitely is not a shared ride into the station.
The one thing that happens is that everyone gets off of there rides, and they all take the train out. Pretty much at the same speed.
Of course during that time of the day there are many people on the internet, so it won't matter what you are using. Its somewhat insignificant how 'slow' it is. The only thing that kills the dsl is how far away you are from the office. Thats pretty wild. The thing is that you can get speed tests from eith side of the country or even planet. So even if it isnt the rush hour here, it will be elsewhere.
we could even make it a game. Have Thompson and Hilton duking it out, as they both sit in psych wards. Media attention can make you more stars. At the end of it all, we could even have them all doped up at the end. One trying to make the world an ecstasy and coke-loving paradise, the other chasing everyone down, beating them into submission with a large pointer.
I live near Toronto. Our city planners decided that it would be helpful to mess with our one-way streets, in order to make it more 'business friendly'. The idea is that slower traffic will make you want to get out of the car, and shop.
There is a lot of short-sightedness. The traffic is no like Toronto's. Grid-lock for most of the day.
For the most part driving wasn't so bad, since all the lights were synched together. So there was no real congestion going through town. It really helped out. Now, I am more frustrated because there are lights that aren't together. you move forward 20 feet and stop. Then you might get into a red-light, and catch a ticket from one of the cameras.
There are studies being done in some cities that have no lights or signs whatsoever. They are finding that there are fewer accidents, because people generally drive slower, but are more willing to let people in.
Interesting that the supreme court(?) has just struck down this very same bill, in Louisiana. The Judge berated the state for trying to undermine the constitution, as well as not seeing what has happened to very similar bills in other states. They also made the state pay out the 94,000$ in lawyer fees that the gaming industry had to pay in order to fight this.
Apparently there was a quote from the group responsible for the bill saying that they would try again. Millions of dollars wasted in 'thinking of the children', when most stores do that anyway.

I like the LED Idea. Osram(Bulb Manufacturer) is getting ready to release a package that is as bright as a 60watt bulb. Slick.
Are they counting vista as one big huge one??
I can remember wayyyy back..
When the local Macs Milk. We got the first video game.
Kids were crammed around it for hours. Fascinated by what was happening.
It doesn't happen so much anymore, because they is not so much a public display of skill.
I think that is why the pro-gamer thing has taken off.
There is an audience because the people that were looking at these people playng that game, are the ones who are the spectators.
Windows of Mass destruction! I for one bow to our new Iraninan-Borg Overlord.
They even brought Bush into this? NUTTY!!
Also, get ready for replicans.

Even in the recent past couple of years Canada has been playing catchup. With its own set. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20050325-4734.html/ http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/2016/275/

Thank you all for voting conservative. Americanization forms to the right.
So if it is clear, would that meant that Wonder-Woman isn't far behind??
People in the movie industry will love this.

Didn't Microsoft try this with XP and IE??
Look what happened to them..
I will believe it when I see it.
'All your base belong to us' No uninstall needed!
Now thats something you get royalties for... unless I get there first.

Thats why I think most dsl ads are so misleading.
Chronic, meet Blunt-Man. You have a lot in common
