So you raise an alarm based on nothing more than a feeling? Do you somehow feel that being a chicken little helps matters, or are you just convinced of your own omniscience?
Sorry, I'll make sure to love Sony in the future for you. Then your opinion of me can go up and... oh, right, I forgot. I don't care what you think of me or my opinions.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to be heard. Sorry. Maybe you want some other plain English added in there to make sure your voice is the loudest?
No, I clearly meant taste. After all, it was my thought I was expressing. Thanks for telling me what I'm thinking though. I enjoy that sort of arrogance you only get with geeks and young adolescents.
Difference in OS choice is a lot more than just taste, unless you boil everything down to taste. Windows is not a drop-in replacement for OS X. Linux is not a drop in replacement for Windows. You don't need to reformulate how you wash your clothes because Era was on sale so you bought that instead of Tide. I think you didn't get my point.
I've seen this posted over and over and I never understood how the conclusion could be reached. What sort of logic leads you to believe religion would collapse? What in Christianity (for example) is incompatible with life on other planets? What in Buddhism? Judaism? Fuck, Scientology is pretty much based around the idea of extraterrestrial life. Where do you get your idea, exactly?
Everything that can be done is easy. Learn the steps somehow and follow them. That's all anything is.
The devil, of course, is in the details, but hey! if the sheep are too stupid that's their fault, right? This stuff is supposed to be hard. Errr, easy. Shit.
It doesn't require much investment of time to learn the differences involved in dispensing laundry detergent. They are effectively drop in replacements replacements for each other, from a user's perspective.
As are all your examples, actually. The differences lie in taste, not capability.
You've basically demonstrated that you don't get the point in the article at all. I guess that is why this keeps getting posted, over and over again. It's the sledgehammer technique.
Well, he invented the Internet, so he must be a pretty smart guy.
(Yeah, I know. It's a joke, you oversensitive Gore fans.)

Join me in destroying the evil beaver so trees everywhere can be safe.

I love politics almost as much as I love reading ridiculous slippery slope arguments based on hate.

Well I'm not in the USA, nor am I likely ever to go there, unless its to help out in the next revolution
Please don't. Your help isn't necessary or welcome. We do fine on our own here.
If you don't like features in your software using computer resource, go use software with fewer features. Nothing forces anyone to upgrade.
Personally, I write it off because I read through the material and found it ridiculous.
According to the folding@home OS stats page, a total of 99712 PS3s contributed as of 25 Apr 2007. Where did the 250,000 come from?

The telco input was long miles of fiber connections, routers, and other infrastructure to actually make it work. That doesn't seem too minimal to me.
I'm all for net neutrality, though. Some things are too basic to allow free market control. This is one of them.

It has benefit to the people who benefit from corporations. I guess they're a different 'We' though, perhaps subhuman and unworthy in some way?
Your chemistry skills are astonishing. I bet you get all the girls.
You use the word theory. I don't think that word means what you think it means.

That's why I'm pulling for Hillary Clinton. She can put the "cunt" back into this great country.
Then all we have to do is eliminate human life, and the problem is solved.
Your subtle ability to convey messages is truly astounding.

Oh, is that the typical reasoning? Is that anything like the typical US bashing you just demonstrated? Or is the smiley supposed to negate it?
Yeah, nothing gets a party rolling like an anti-DRM screed.
Almost instantly? What fabulous dream world do you occupy where such a changeover would take less than 5 years?
