Right so they appoint SCO as guardians of the Linux code.If you think about this it is because our society has been conditioned to think you arent too smart if you arent making money and are giving something away for free cause nothing is free in life.Free as in freedom to use as you see fit.Alien thinking to the business model.they are going to try to show that this proves that Linux cant control the source of its code so it needs better controls.IBM is smarter than SCO is my one hope .
is supposed to be a press conference Wednesday where SCO is going to tell the Linux companies about the licensing structure they are going to set up.My image of this case is that they are going to try to show that linux is not controlled enough and needs to have a guardian appointed to make it comply with IP,copyrights and etal.Who better than the one that owns all the copyrights to unixware? This case could take some really interesting twists before being done.I am not saying that their is sco code in linux but that they want to raise the issue that their could be. The article on mozilla.org really lets you see where the argument is going
http://www.eetimes.com/sys/news/OEG20030703S0026 Did the People ask to see the code?If they didnt will they have to sign NDA?Interesting things keep coming up.If it is just between IBM and SCO why do they even need to concern themselves with CELF?
The hospitals are taking DNA samples from all babies born now. They say that they destroy them after a certain amount of time but how does a person know that for sure?
This is the danger as a judge likes to think things are controlled. Can SCO show that linux has been negligent in taking care of the license? If so the judge will think that an established company needs to be put in control to protect the way the GPL is handled?I am not trolling i am asking..Being fairly new to the computer world i have no formal training and starting out on windows was disaster after disaster and since discovering Mandrake Linux i have been so much happier.I really look for the SCO lawyers to try to show that people are being irresponsible about GPL and by starting with IBM a very big company maybe show that it is viral to all?I mean whoever thought free software could make money for businesses. That is alien to peoples minds
Right except they continued distributing after they knew the code was there. As a company that boasts of the importance of IP,copyrights and such they realized when they found the code that they should have stopped distributing themselves. If they wanted the code removed all they had to do was contact the right people and it would have been taken care of.I firmly believe there is more to this story and it is going to be a shocker

Personally i have found that companies hire others to snoop in other stores to see what advantage a competitor has so yes i can picture them standing outside a competitors store analyzing the shoppers bags as they exit.My answer and response to this is to encourage all of my older friends to stand in line and insist on the removal of the tags before leaving the store cause older people seem to appreciate privacy and technology isnt as important to them. Can you imagine the employees having to explain these aren't bad to 80 year old ladies that think a robber can see what they have bought and is going to try to steal from them.
This is what i was wondering also. How would kernel developers even be able to file claims for infringement if SCO gets this all done behind close doors and gets ownership of linux in a roundabout and backdoor way.
Probably am not being very clear in the way to say this as i dont fully understand it
We had a targeted group and taught free classes to sell the Mall Vendors Products.
It made pretty good income for them.It is a way to to give them new ideas for maybe targeting online businesses
This might be the best idea i have heard so far to get national attention.Mcdonalds is a company that worries about image. If we knew a few more companies also the same thing could be done at them also.
Also a note about the SCO protest they will be able to point to their own signs and say this is what most linux people represent.Do we want that image of us presented to a court?
they have thought it out it is all theirs that matters what was contributed by everyone else doesnt count for anything
this i would contribute to FUNNY
So the Linux distros are stopped, now what? How does linux move forward if they wont tell what offending code is in the kernel?
No really M# would have all kinds of DOJ people after them if they bought SCO the party would turn very interesting then
No they want a guardianship type appointment so they can control the releases .with enough IP copyrights this might be possible with courts of today
Isnt Berman the one that is an author also?Wouldnt this be a conflict of interest?
