Dmitry was not in hot water just for "helping grandma to read", he made it possible for millions of copywritten works which make up for some people's livleyhoods, to be exploited without proper compensation
Ok, Konqueror renders pages almost as good as IE5 does. The only thing why I dont use Konqueror is coz its loading time 10 times slower than 10 netscapes being started simultaneously.
Ok, it's definitely cool Plex86 runs Windows and stuff, but how does its speed compare to Win4Lin? On my PC Windows runs under Win4Lin even faster than in native mode.
Well I sticked with 5.0 and never used 5.5 on regular basis... but: once I was using Indy machine and after short period of quite stable behaviour IRIX started crashing like hell for every 10-20 minutes. I was blaming SGI and telling everybody what the crap is IRIX. And you know what? Folks from SGI just replaced broken CPU and I never saw a crash again.
Sorry to say this - but I've never seen MS Internet Explorer crashed. And never seen any serious bug or "feature" which could be annoying. Have you ever really used MSIE or just know its made by Microsoft which is an easy target for blaming here?
Okay, I won't pretend that statement makes any recognizable sense, but I'd like to read the article that it ALLUDES to. Cracked? When? How? By whom? I'd like to read an article about it, not a passing mention. Where's the story?
XFree86 site says that there is no hw acceleration for Rage Pro chipsets in 4.0. However you can use Utah-GLX module for XFree 3.3.6, which supports DRI for Rage Pro cards. Go to http://utah-glx.sourceforge.net for more info.
It may be an offtopic, but these "Carmacks" created a new 3D engine that leaves Quake far far behind. http://www.insomniasoftware.com/ Cant wait to see it in action.
Netscape is packaged with default X resource file, where you can change most of Netscape's look'n'feel (i.e. menu names, buttons, system fonts, key mappings, Motif settings etc.) For my distro it is/usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Netscape.
