This is my public post, I have 100 more that is shared with closer circle. The people I talk with on g+ hase the same experience. That there is alot of people without this experience is natural. The way I see it, you get what you do put in. If I made no effort on twitter or FB to find people to follow and generate content that makes people follow me I would say both those platforms are dead and empty.
Looking at my stream on g+ I would say that 25% is shared with limited audience
Compared to other social networks sites I have been using I have never seen this amount of interactions between users. The difference here is that you start to talk to people you don't know. Whn I started on G+ none of my friends there on G+, but instead I started to talk with people I never seen or met before. Today I have these stats from G+:

Compared to FB there the same type of posts didn't generate anything at all.
instead of people checking facebook every 5 minutes for the latest, very important, updates as they always do they now constantly was hitting reload for 2.5 hour
If noone ever has been allowed to porttrait Mohammed, how can they tell that it is Mohammed they have portraited? This is my painting of Mohammed "|" , is this enough for being banned? I could understand that they would get upset if he was porttraited in a less flattening situation, as christians would have some problems with Jesus being dressed up as something visiting the blue oyster bar
“These guys [Google] are using the networks and they don’t pay anybody,” he[César Alierta, chairman of Telefónica] said.
No, we, the users, are using the google services and we already pays you for this access.
There is not a single Google service that is not reliant on network service,” he [René Obermann, Deutsche Telekom’s chief executive] said. “We cannot offer our networks for free.”
And you don't, we still pays you for this service.
Doesn't matter what kind of ssytem we build and provide, how easy things are, even if there is just one button on the screen which says "CLICK ON ME" and makes all the things they want totally automatic. They will call us and ask if they should click on that button
Ok, where are the mass destruction weapons that US had so much proof of?
And the people contained in Guantanamo? If they are guilty of something, why isn't any evidence shown about this? And why aren't any cases presented? What are they contained for? And if they cant even tell them or us why they are there, on what ground are they there?
Yes, Suse's product is expensive and fron what I have understand doesn't support large amount of users either. Kolab (kroupware?) could be interesting in the future.
But first an open backend and then we could start thinking about new clients (IMHO).
this is just a change on how we present the information to the user, but what I would like to see is more work on how to improve (probably somplete redesign) we way we work with computers.
I get the feeling we still use the same methods we have for the last 20 years. The only improvment is the GUI.
What about getting the computers to do what we need them to do? How is information stored/indexed/searched? Wht the complexity to the user? Why the featurebloat in almost every software?
I am one of those pre RH guys and I have used RH for the last years and are happy with that. I have done my time compiling, configurering and all that. Nowadays I like just to install the damn thing and start use it as soon as possible.
But last time I checked, RH came with a console as well.
I don't have the urge to hardcore, elite or something else, I just use my computer. I know how to do things so why should I have to prove it everytime I want to install a new compputer?
I live in a small country (sweden, 9 million people) and yearly we have about 150 murders nad the main weapon used in murder is knifes. People that get shot are very few.
The problem you get if you allow people to wear guns is that if you are for example robbed by someone that has a gun and you tries to use your weapon the robber is suddenly forced to use his gun to survive. And he has already his gun ready and are probably faster to use it than you are...
If you let people own guns it will get more easily to get a gun by stealing it from someone nad you get more illegal weapons on the market.
here very few poeple has guns, but it does exist but very rarely someone that uses guns.
How many people in the US dies by murder? How many of these get shot?
IBM uses slashdot to test their latast servers to test ther loadbalance. If it can survive a slashdotattack on bugzilla they know they have done it right.
According to my https logs there still is alot of machines infected with code red and other stuffs that has had a cure for very long time but people haven't yet patch their systems. So I think it will be possible for a worm like this to spread, seems that most users doesn't care about to secure their own machine.
Ok, I am against this sort of actions they thinking of. I am also for that we should be able to listen the music we buy on several different devices as we have paid for the music.
But what we are doing at the moment is defending our right to break the law. By sharing copyrighted material to others we are violating laws and we argue about this as it is our given right to do this.
Do like we should do with copyrighted software, if we dont like the license dont buy and don't use it. Our lifes doesn't end because we cant listen to music. And if you really like the music then buy it. Of course you support the record label by doing so but at least the artist gets something, pirate the music and the artist will get nothing at all.
We can have many arguments on the record industri and that sort of stuff, but we do break the law by sharing copyrighted material to people on p2p.
Didn't find the game that has jept me sleepless most night, the game that once you start play it always keeps you busy. And still havent completed it yet, still some more things to solve. Am I the only one playing windows here?
Yes, one student learns how to bypass the security and the rest just follows the instruction like a sheep

STFU and deliver what we want and pays you for.
the 3 absense could be the companies that did leave the voting, IBM and others?

from the site:
We're sorry, but vnunet.com is temporarily unavailable while we conduct essential upgrades.
Our technical team is working hard to restore the site as quickly as possible.
Please come back to vnunet.com shortly.

it is not the outlook client that is of most interest, it is replacing exchange as backend that we should replace first...

Actually no.

The largest producer of stable and bugfree software?

Why is most of the programming work done overseas, where you have to ridiculously overspecify the project to get maintainable/extendable code?
Most of my specs are written on PostIt, if I am lucky to get some at all...
you don't need a computer for this, just skip your pickup line "Do you read slashdot?" :)
