And I would have to pretty much agree with you that indeed the G5 is a grand workstation running a better OS then anything that MS has (all will every have I will say) out at the mo and the IBM 64 bit RISC chip does indeed kick some ass (IBM sure know how to make a fine processor) but you have to look at the commercial retail and it does not favor the old Apple these days. They are losing market share in what should be the strong hold for Apple. The educational and print/design sector are heading towards PCs because it is what most of the user are on these days plus a PC is a shit load cheaper than an Apple and with so many people in business these days trying to keep there IT budgets down the PC is the choice cause of cost. I also think the Steve Job needs to pull his head out of his ass and drop the price; he should also look at build X86 systems. Since OSX started is life on the X86 then porting it back should not be that hard. He also needs to get the gaming sector to build games for OSX a lot quicker than it has been. That is my biggest reason for not swapping.
It is all good to have a better product then the competition but if they do not have the required companies creating software for the platform then it will never be a treat to MS. Look at OS/2 Warp and BEOS, fair better systems then anything the MS had out at the time but with out the backing of the software development community they fell by the way side.
I believe that Apple could give MS a run for its money but they need to change the way they do business. If they keep going the way they are going then are going to end up in a page note of some computer book about how good it could have been.
That and my spelling/grammar could have been alot better. And if the person is an RIAA employee then I feel sorry for that person. It must be hard a parties from them when ask who they work for and then been spat on.
You should look at using Soul Seek(http://www.slsknet.org/). That is what I use to find music. Granted I do not listen to fuck main stream music these days which Soul Seek is not good for but I would still say you should give it a go you. Plus the RIAA has little to no interest in soul seek at the mo cause it is quite small compaired to Kazaa.
From my point of view I think Kazaa is shit, it might have alot of users on but I have found it really crap fpr looking up music and moives. EMule is what I have found to be good for TV shows and movies.

What I was going on about was the next gen which would allow you to connect to the internet. Yea all I need is fucking CE on my toaster. If the smartphone software is anything to go by as far as embedded devices, we are all up shit creek. I can see no need what so every for there to be any embedded OS to be in my toaster, oven, microwave etc. This stuff works pretty well now why make it more complex by adding embedded systems in it, means more shit to go wrong. Now there are people out there that would like to have this stuff on the internet so the can get a MSN message on there Pocket PC saying that there toast has poped and yea I can see how nice that could be but it just seems really lazy to me, you could just get off you ass and have a look.
There is a place for embedded systems I just do not see why the hell it needs to be in my fucking toaster.

The only reason why Windows is so used in the home is the amoral way MS forced Windows onto us hence the reason they got taken to court. And if you are talking about common sence it would be common sence not to use Windows. Windows is still a big secuirty problem, granted they have stopped it crashing as much as the older version but that is the only props I would give it. Shit I tired to get my olds to buy a Mac instead of a PC when they were looking at computers cause I know they would not need to worries about needing to update there system every second day cause of some new problem that has been found. I agree with some of the things you have said but not that last part not at all.
As for the XBox, it is shit complete shit. I would not waste my time even looking at getting one. As with so many other things MS has tried to put there hand to they should have used the money they sent and the time fixing Windows.

It is upto the parents to teach there kids what is right and wrong but also what is real and what is not. You have to put games with guns into context and point out that it is not real. I get pissed when parent's blame video game, music etc etc on there childs behavior. They need to take a hard look in the mirror. Granted I will say 10 year old kids should not be playing graphically violent games. They should be outside playing.
I have tried to Roll Out Mozilla at my work but since where I work is a MS Dev shop it is hard to get them to switch.
I use Mozilla/FireBird as my main broswer. I stopped using IE about 2 year ago cause I was stick of all the fucking security problems. And I look at it like this IE is based off code from 10 years ago they still have parts of Mosaic. But at the end of the day most people us Windows and Ie comes with it, most of the Joe/Jane users out there are not going to change cause they have no real idea. Now I know this will upset some people but that is just how it is.

You are right. It seems to also miss out the fact that the Game Industry makes more money than the Movie Industry
