Yeah he duped the NALSA into using the wrong terminology... He's going down wind faster than the wind, when you understand the wheels drive the propeller and look at the propellers direction of rotation, it makes sense how it works.

If these device will accelerate to and beyond the average velocity of the volume of gas it sits in, what prevents it from accelerating from a dead stop in a still volume of air?

This really sounds like a perpetual motion scheme.

If there's no wind then it won't move. You are missing that it will accelerate to and beyond the average velocity of the volume of gas it sits in _with respect to the ground_. The ground doesn't move with the wind.

My only complaint about trac is it's a pain to administer. At the time I was trying to have a seperate instance of trac for each project (different wikis, different bug databases, etc) and it was horrible. That was over a year ago however, so maybe it's better now? But otherwise I thought the tight integration between SVN, the bug tracker and the wiki all made for a great software project management resource.

Very true, the iPod's interface is the best, though I don't mind my Nomad Zen's (though probably because I'm used to it). People just need to make informed decisions, and realize that every player has its positives and negatives. What do you mean the only player that works with audiobooks though? For books purchased off iTunes, can't they just be converted to MP3's for other players (less transcoding issues with spoken word than music)? And one would think other music stores would start offering audio books if they see them taking off.

I agree, $250 for the new iPod is too much, considering a new 15GB Dell DJ is the same price, and has a much longer battery life. Of course size and sexiness of the iPod mini come into play, but it doesn't seem like a good value.

Unfortunately turning off specular effects doesn't cut it for me and just about everyone I know that tried the game (mind you we're all ATi boxes so that probably has something to do with it). I've never complained about any game before this, I know my expectations are not unrealistic. Outdoor works passably for me at 1024x768, but once action moves indoors it's very choppy, and in the first hangar with a few enemies, it's a total slideshow, single digit framerates all the way. Unacceptable. I'm not asking for 300fps. I'm asking for an average above 30 and a minimum not far below that, not a maximum of 30 and a minimum of 5. And Gearbox's stance of "people don't like the framerates from the timedemos, so we're changing the way the timedemo works to give higher numbers" is crap. As is their "we're the first to do this so we're taking the brunt of the compaints". By all accounts the leaked incomplete Half-Life 2 looks far better, is full of DX9, and runs far far faster. I was waiting for this game for so long.. thanks Gearbox, another "great" product from you. (System: 2900+ Athlon XP, Radeon 9700, 1GB RAM, etc etc..)
