So, once again the studios are making piracy much more convenient. You know, DVD would be CSSed so you probably wouldn't be able to copy them on your computer without resorting to "piracy tools". So this is the scenario:
Buying legal DVDs: High price, no flexibility of use, need to "upgrade" your equipment to read DVDs; Buying CDs on the street: Low price, easy availability, maximum flexibility, quality like the original; Legal download: Medium price, easy to find what you want, arguable flexibility (depending where you buy), not the best quality. Illegal download: Free, not extremely easy to find what you want, very flexible, medium to low quality.
And the winner is (IMHO): Buying CDs on the street! So the worst piracy method (which gives money to people who really steal property) is the best way to listen music without any problem. Once again, they'll manage to increase piracy!
Actually, even on PowerPC, there already were games ported using TransGaming technologies, like SpyHunter. This was reported on their site few days ago, but seems gone now. The game crashed very very often, so i don't really like the idea of them doing it again;)
How much power will the heating process consume? The 2.5" form factor for laptops is pretty meaningless if the drive is going to suck a lot of power and/or run as hot as hell.
Cool! I see finally Newspeak from "1984" is slowly being proposed. Next revision we'll remove some useless words, so we can make speak and write much simpler. Ok this was just meant to be funny;)
Because you can transfer music to another computer/player (and is easy, i had to do it). You just need to authorize it. Not to mention you can burn CDs (and not just 3, it is 3 times in the same playlist).
What they are doing instead totally screws you.
Now, i've bought some songs from the iTMS and i really had no problems, i can just listen to them, when i switched to another mac i didn't have any problem as well. No i do not own any MP3 player, but i can burn the music to regular CDs and that's fine for me.
Yes i would prefer DRM free music, but sincerely going to iTMS and downloading IMMEDIATELY and full speed the music i want, is much more hassle free than looking up for it on P2P and deal with the fakes and the waiting (since what i'm looking for isn't very popular usually, yet i could find it on iTMS). I haven't encountered any problem with DRM yet with music bought from iTMS (but i guess the same applies to other stores, i don't know).
Jeez, I wish people who have no earthly clue what they're talking about would refrain from posting.
Well, but the mods will give those people what they deserve... +5, Insightful.
Have you read TFA? Safari is not tricked by extension, but is tricked by the crafted metadata stored in the __MACOSX folder in the zip file (which contains the resource forks for the compressed files). So metadata is set to reflect the extension, but the "Open With:" option is set to Terminal.app instead of the default application (that is, the embedded resource fork also stores the preferred application to open a certain document, for example Photoshop instead of Preview).
I define information something that informs me about something. This means documents, books (digital or real). That's my view of it. Now, we can talk about this forever if we define the same word in different way we will never agree:)

How do you support this statement? I find your assumption totally wrong. Probably we haven't yet defined what information means and what software is in a clear way..
How do software become "information"? A software is usually a tool that lets you accomplish something is not an "information" just because is replicable by easier means than normal tools.
Did you buy Mac OS X? If so do what you want with it. But wait, you just bought a lifetime usage license, which grants you the right to use it on one *Apple* computer at once. With this license you received a CD, which you can backup as you wish. You can also resell or transfer your license together with a copy (being it the original or not, as long as you don't retain any working copy yourself). So you OWN a license, not Mac OS X (as in all the rights on it, which Apple retains). I don't see how your rights are not respected, they are not being deceptive on restrictions of THEIR software at all, you just need to understand what you actually buy.
No, this is what they like to sell. You don't have any right on Mac OS X. Apple has. They have the right to sell it only for their platform because they made it! Do you have a vague concept of "is mine and i do whatever i want with it?". And no, buying an OS X license does not make it yours. Is not like Apple is saying you can't make backups of the CD, run it on multiple macs (not at once).
It's standard hardware, but they selected it. They are sure OS X drivers for that hardware is good, and that there won't be problems out of the box. OS X does not support a big selection of hardware (not talking about peripherals for which support is 3rd party when it exists). Drivers can be cause of unreliability and can cause lots of problem, knowing that they've been tested to be fine, and that i'm using one of the few supported configuration makes my life easier, especially when there are problems. I can say i have a second generation iMac G5 17" and that's enough to determine what's in it..

Yes, exactly.
So, how am i supposed to watch at the monitor while behind the router?
Given the amount of flashy sites around here it could almost prevent blindness
Ah, those words still exists? Thank you for reporting. Thought Police is knocking at your door.

In other news the new slogan of the Bush party goes something like:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
Please remain within the range of your telescreen.
There goes karma point down the flush!
No.
I mean, they are bashing Microsoft, so they must be right!

And you win the /. Best Post of the Topic Award! Congrats!
