The only thing keeping a large number of us from running linux full time is the lack of a real alternative to Adobe software. Sure you can mess around with WINE or Crossover Office until you get Photoshop to run semi-okay, but why put up with that when we can dual boot?
just a few better things you could do with all that money:
-make a donation to a worthy charity/non-profit
-save/invest if for the future
-treat your s.o. to something nice
-go on a trip
-put it in your kid's college fund
-build a robot
Your arguement doesnt work. Treating yourself with medicine affects you and only you. You are not genetically engineering your children to be immune to disease, or injecting the entire population in your area with the medicine you think they need. There is the difference.
Does biodiversity mean a thing to any of you? Having one strain of GM corn dominate all of an an area's crops might be awesome when it comes to raising productivity levels and immunity to pesticides, but when an unforseen disease starts to affect the plants (which can happen a lot) they would be completely wiped out, because they are all the same. Nature does it better, lets not fuck around with it.
Introducing GM plants to an area can be compared to introducing alien species to a place where they do not belong. There is no possible way to forsee all the negative impacts that could arise. Check out all the problems Australia has with feral animals, for instance. here

Your mousing hand has 5 fingers on it, unless you have some sort of disability. So why should software/hardware have to be designed for those of us with stumps instead of hands, when it can easily, (and with less menus) utilize the rest of a user's fingers?
The "cant tell the difference between the buttons" arguement carries no weight. These are the people who mistake their accelerator for the brake when driving. I would really love to see one of them attempt to use an elevator.
