    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Backward compatibility is death to the console market"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That wouldn't explain the immense success of the PS2 then would it? It may be the "death" of consoles that do not adhere to backward compatibility as a marketing strategy (game cube/x-box)... but it hasn't hurt the Play Station one iota.
    The reason i can't play todays FPS's isn't that Nvidia isn't compatible it's that my card is too old and is obsolete.
    I'll bet that the games will be backward compatible.
Humans get Mad Cow disease from eating the-cow-that-ate-the-other-cow, not from melatonin, unless, by chance, the pineal gland of that cow had been infected by said spongeoform encephalitis (same could be said of eating a goat infected with anthrax though, mmmnnnnn anthrax goat).
    I heard a guy from Walmart on the radio yesterday talking about how impossible it would be to start using RFID's on their products. He said:
    1) It would take every semi-conductor company in the world 5-10 years just to cover Walmart's inventory.
    2) They have no need to do this as there doesn't seem to be any incentive to the customers while adding a substantial cost to Walmart itself.
    3) The substancial cost he stated was something like $0.30 - $0.60 per RFID tag. He said that in order to be cost effective they would have to be able to get the tags at a $0.05 per tag range.
    All this means to me is that Walmart has done lots of research into this kind of "product enhancement. What I still can't figure out is WHY?
    What about the fact that tech support (call centers anyway) are being exported overseas. I think that could drastically affect how you get service for the following reasons: 1) Language barrier: Let's face it, if they can't understand what you are telling them, you'll end up paying that dorky kid upstreet sooner than if you got someone from Alabama on the phone (also hard to understand but doable at least) 2) Cultural Differnces: Taking a break in the coversations to hork up a loogy isn't common in western cultures but I'm aware of several eastern ones where this is tolerated and even acceptable (not sure about in a work place though...) This is just one example but you get the idea. 3) time Zones: Nuff said, I can't be arsed to help customers in the broad daylight not to mention 4:30 AM. 4) Education/Training: I can't say for sure but I'm guessing that the third world isn't exactly top shelf when it comes to this. 5) Pay: They aren't paying people enough to live well otherwise these jobs would stay in North Am.
