The first task is to identify the font, and font size the missing word was written in. Once that is done, the dictionary search begins for words that fit the space, plus or minus three pixels
hmm, maybe this is wakeup call for govt. to maybe use a variable font size and spacing in classified documents. not sure how often they use 'blacking out' though.
software patents in EU is going to turn into a disaster. this is going to turn into another USPTO, where they are backed up by more than you can imagine, and they accept any old crap that gets submitted!
The other models - 2800+, 3000+, and 3200+ are rated to operate at 65W while the 2700+ is rated to operate at 35W. The Pentium M processor models - 1.5Ghz, 1.6Ghz, and 1.7Ghz are set to operate at 24.5W. The AMD 2700+ budget Mobile processor still consumes more power than the Centrino platform, which uses Intel's Pentium M chips. Another big difference between the rest of Athlon64 Mobile processors from AMD and the 2700+ budget level Mobile processor is the amount of L2 cache. The 2700+ processor has 512KB cache while the rest of the models house 1MB cache. The 2700+ is clocked at 1.6Ghz; the same clock speed as the 2800+, which has 1MB L2 cache.
one thing i find is distro's such as mandrake/redhat/suse take much longer to startup than distros like slackware/debian/gentoo.. depending on how often you reboot/shutdown this may be a big issue (the longer-to-start distros drove me crazy, and you can only configure it by so much)
for some people they almost never reboot so this is not an issue
Big deal, right? It is if it doesn't come from Microsoft. "
really? i would think it's a big deal even if it DOES come from microsoft. they are not known to concentrate on updating older OS's. especially the 9x/me series.
whether it supports ata/100 is irrelevant, considering the RPM is only 4,200, which is the more important fact. the transfer rate won't even get anywhere close to ata/100 speeds at 4200rpm.
ah yes, i remember the old days, search engines like webcrawler, altavista, magellan, and infoseek. in those days wouldn't help you find what you want most of the time. now with google we need not worry:)
The summary was a little misleading, this is what the article means by 'rented tunes':
"Fans of portable players could then pay as little as $10 a month for ongoing access to hundreds of thousands of songs, instead of buying song downloads one at a time for about a dollar apiece."
I wish Google would fix their searching of mailing lists. I would love to see duplicates filtered, messages ordered by date, and indexing by subject.
what they need is a new section 'google mailing lists', which functions similarly to google groups, you can search newsgroup items, view the whole thread in a nested format, etc
although they would probably need to archive the mailing lists from various sources, could take quite a bit of work
Doesn't this just end up as a war of attrition, where the company who is most able to sustain gigantic losses comes out on top?
i'm sure once the price reaches a certain point, it will be a war of who can produce the best system, in terms of graphics, games, features, etc... people won't neccessarily buy the one with the lowest price, the market doesn't work that way
here is a previous story on paypal NY lawsuit
freescale is a subsidiary of motorola, here is homepage for coldfire.
if you just want to download a codec so you can play movies (eg, with wmp) , go here.
(i use mplayer for win32 now, so i don't use this anymore)

no mean to rant, but the pdf is too long, i can't be bothered to read it all, someone want to summarize it please? :)
from article:
The goal is to prevent known terrorists from entering the country and to make the use of stolen passports virtually impossible.
this is useless, all it does is prevent existing known terrorists from trying to enter, not that they would be stupid enough to try anyways.
we can't give them the leverage of controlling our water supply. i can just imagine them saying:
"all your water are belong to us. har har har"
hmmm. with that much power i'm guessing they are planning to put longhorn on it.
i'm going issue SCO an invoice for $699.
i know what you're thinking. well it doesn't matter that i don't hold the copyright, isn't that right SCO?
for some reason, i don't think it's a coincidence that both their sf projects are under a non GPL-compatible license.

Why use it over the open source MinGW tools?
i just downloaded it. not only does it not have an IDE, it doesn't even have nmake
i found this site. has some pictures of the inside which is quite interesting.
I think it's a grammatical error, b) should be:
"No, Whether it would be found out or not"

Pardon me, but isn't that what UnitedLinux was supposed to do?
look at the united linux page. looks very 'commercial' to me, you can't even find a download link easily, or can you even download it?
while the fedora page has a nice and simple download link.
