I've been programming a computer since I was 8 years old. I'm 29 now. That's 21 years of "experience". Lately, however, I've come to the realization that I'm never going to make it "big" unless I grow a Big Ole Programmer's Beard. I'd like to think it's possible to be a wise UNIX guru without one, but I think it would be easier if I had a beard. A big one.
My question is: Since my wife won't let me grow the Big Ole Programmer's Beard, what should I do to make it "big" in the world of UNIX gurus?
Try looing at Where's George? for stuff about the velocity of money. Their members record the serial numbers on all the bills they get and the system tracks them across the world. Not as detailed as a chip in a bill though.
Maybe I should just start stealing everything I need so I won't be tracable through my money.
If it is unreachable, is it really part of the Internet?
When I turn off my router, I don't really consider my home machines part of the Internet even though they are running and connected by a physicall wire.
"The particle physicists' ultimate goal is "grand unification" -- recovering the primordial symmetry in the form of a single law -- a few concise equations, it is often said, that could be silk-screened onto a T- shirt."
That's a lot of freakin' work for a T-shirt design.
you'll notice that the Texan flag is the only state flag that's allowed to fly at the same height as the US flag
That may be true, but it isn't done so far as I know. I work 1 block from the Texas State Capitol Building in Austin, and I can see it from my desk. As we speak, the American flag is flying above the Texas flag. Same thing for all the other tall buildings I can see in town.
The fact is, lots of other flags are allowed to fly at the same height as the US flag (anywhere, not just TX), but not in the position of honor. The leftmost flag must be the US flag, and I've never seen it any other way here in Texas (save one apartment building who corrected their mistake when it was pointed out to them).
Being serious, what does suck is that Comdex isn't going to pay any sort of price for this. Do you think the press and Mega-Corp CTOs (the people who actually ligitimize and make shows Comdex profitable) are going to care? Do you think they are going to stop going?
Wow. First laser eye surgery, and now laser teeth surgery.
I'll bet we all get spam in a few days telling us to INCREASE YOUR PENIS SIZE USING LASERS!

Lose your card, get your identity stolen easily.
Not unless I accidentally drop my retinas on the ground too.
Good thing I have a 4k key.
It's also a good thing that I'm a total loser and don't have friends sending me anything in the first place.

When American Standard releases a new toilet, are we gonna hear about it here first?
Probably not. I submitted this way back in April, but it was rejected.

It also needs to be pro-active, and in your face.
:)
spam is actually from our cow-orkers
The sooner we eradicate the cow orkers from our society, the sooner the SPAM problem will be solved!
Perverted bastards....
Yahoo! already is profitable.
I wish I had problems like this when I was 17.

Probably not. Thats what really sucks here.
