You're right- the government doesn't create a middle class. They create a lower class that is not poverty stricken, but lives off of welfare and other social programs such as rent subsidies, earned income tax credits, food stamps, etc. Now if you're the political party that supports such program, all you would need to do is create a 55% majority that lives off of the other 45%. You stay in power and can use your policy decisions to redistribute wealth in your favor and everything is just peachy.
If anyone isn't convinced of a scenerio such as this, remember that the wealthiest 10-20% of Americans already pay something like 70 - 80% of all the taxes.
"The Swedish think tank SIPRI recently broke down arms sales to Iraq from 1973 to 1990. Tops over the 27 years were: USSR - $25 billion, France - $5 billion, China - $5 billion, U.S. - $250 million. That's right: The armorers for the butcher of Baghdad turn out to be the three biggest opponents of ending his reign of terror."
Germany is probably not on the list because I don't think they are allowed to posess a lot of weapons, right?
Well since we've already got a thread about the food going...
in Hawaii it's really popular to eat SPAM Musubi. They even sell it at 7-11 like they do hot dogs. It's just a slab of fried spam thrown on a slab of rice and wrapped in seaweed. Since I've left Hawaii, I still make it occasionally. My friends in Indiana think I'm weird, but it's good stuff.:)
My universities slogan is "Ball State University, Everything You Need." Yeah, i'ts everything you need, well, if you need a big penis bell tower that is being built for the sole purpose of being taller than purdue's, and as long as you don't need a well respected degree.:P
Screw the rest of the Arab world.
I don't think CNN was around when we purchased Alaska from Russia, dumbass.
:P
Go back to school and maybe in 10-15 years you'll be able to understand few things
I think you're the one who needs to go back. Maybe in a few years you will understand grammar.
What's even more sad and pathetic is that you're acting is if this war was yesterday.
Get a fucking life, seriously.
6917, eat it. :p
Sometimes the truth hurts.
So where are you statistics? Yeah, that's what I thought...
Here are some more on the income tax:
Did you know that 95.7 percent of all personal income taxes are now paid by just the top 50 percent of earners?
Certainly, we should not begrudge them some relief from the disproportionate tax burden they are bearing.
The top 1 percent of earners are currently paying 32.3 percent of personal income tax receipts! Is that fair?
The top 5 percent pay half (actually 50.8 percent) of the total personal income tax burden.
The top 10 percent carry 62.4 percent of the total load.
The top 25 percent pay 81.3 percent of personal income taxes.
By contrast, the lower 75 percent of earners pay only 18.7 percent of the taxes.
The lower half pay just 4.3 percent!
I'm currently looking for what percentage of the US governments income comes from income taxes and what percentage comes from other taxes.

actually according to the data linked to below, germany did sell weapons to iraq, just not on the same level as the other countries.
so much for your idealism, eh?
That was an internal conflict within one nation.
No war has ever been fought between two capitalist democracies. Long term solution to war? Create more capitalist democracies. :)
This is from Investors Business Daily-

stupid html...
Sqrt(1) less than Sqrt(2) less than Sqrt(4)
1 less than Sqrt(2) less than 2
In order for Sqrt(2) to be rational, it must be equal to some integer between 1 and 2. Since no such integer exists, Sqrt(2) is irrational.
There is a much simpler proof than that.
Sqrt(1) Sqrt(2) Sqrt(4)
1 Sqrt(2) 2
In order for Sqrt(2) to be rational, it must be equal to some integer between 1 and 2. Since no such integer exists, Sqrt(2) is irrational.
It's a cruel world. :P
Wow. You're a dork. Get a life.
I mod my friends' comments all the time, although I'm not sure if they've been keeping track of their karma or not.
Your loss, not ours.
I don't think anyone is afraid of a "rouge state".
Actually that's not true. I got a chinese fortune cookie one time that said: "Behind every great man there is always."
u r dum
yup, i had this problem with 0.9 and 0.91
Well since we've already got a thread about the food going...

Sure they're dumb interfaces, but they work.
My UID is 6917, eat me! :D
