When he won the state he didn't run on his NASA decapitation strategy. I expect he will be as successful as he was on health care, and that NASA will be directed by congress until 2012. It is interesting to note that Falcon 9's initial launch is scheduled before the conference. If it crashes (and I expect it will), the President's plan will die.
It is good to see the congress contest the abysmal decision making coming from the Whitehouse. There is no logical reason to end NASA's manned space program. Obama's sycophants at NASA are in full retreat. I look forward to the return of Constellation and extension of the Shuttle project.

But compared to the 'non-plan' that emerged a month ago I'll take any concrete plan. You can't say Direct isn't well thought out. The Augustine report is an excuse for doing nothing.
