Call the police and request them to be towed. If I parked my car at a gas pump to block them from filling up, you can be sure the response would be the same.
There are a few reasons that I will occasionally watch twitch.tv
1. Between work and family, I just cannot devote much time to playing games anymore. There are not many games (that I enjoy) that give me the flexibility to come and go as needed.
2. Previews. Remember when demos were a thing? Now they are mostly gone, so the next best thing is to watch someone else play the game for a bit and see if it looks good. I have avoided a couple purchases this way and also bought a few games I otherwise would have avoided.
3. Entertainment. I have found a few streamers that are entertaining while playing games.
Someone else made the connection to sports already and I think it's a valid point. I enjoy watching hockey, football, and soccer because I find them entertaining team sports. However what I do not understand is why so many people without a connection to a specific university follow their sports teams like a religion?
Uh... china has already depleted nearly all wildlife already in their territory. Hence the reason for their false islands and territorial claims. Not sure they have any moral high ground to stand on.
Doing business in China already sucks. You basically must bribe the government with a 50% share of any company that wants to do business in China.
It sucks because of the 1.2 billion (or more) potential consumers.. but giving half your profits and all your technology to the Chinese gov't is not a smart plan.
Your health care idea works if health care costs were reasonable in the US, however they are greatly inflated.
My recent example. I sprained my MCL playing hockey. I have to wear a brace now whenever doing a physical activity. The doctor gave me a brace (I didn't know the cost). He told me when this one wears out I can buy the exact thing directly from the company for around $130. I got the bill for getting the brace from the doctor, $500!!! Insurance paid $130 but I had to pay the balance (from my Health Savings Account, so at least it was pre-tax).
I am liable for up to $6,000 per year in medical costs for my family before insurance really kicks in. Luckily we're in a good financial situation so there is no worry if this were to happen multiple years in a row. This would sink many families here in the US.
My wife's family is in the Nagoya metro area, though luckily they live in a small village on the side of a mountain so the tsunami itself would not be a problem. Unfortunately though all the jobs/schools are on the plain which would be swallowed up.
In the past 6 months, I've received 1 unsolicited SMS. At this moment I'm not for or against the idea, I just do not trust the carriers to do what is best for the people and I also do not trust the GOP to do what's best for the people.
Did you even read the GP's post? It was about the need to own a car just about everywhere outside NYC. It was nothing about the dining options or the entertainment.
I get it. There isn't as much to do where I live. We don't just get in the car and drive around and think about where should we stop for dinner. With the limited options, we know before we leave. So in that case, calling a taxi 30 minutes before is not a big issue.
Even my small town of 30k people has a taxi service. It requires a call-ahead but it's actually quite cheap and partially funded by the county. It requires a little bit of planning ahead and patience, though.
I get a new phone every 3 or 4 years and even then I always go back one generation of phone because I'm cheap and am not a big user.
But I have friends that upgrade a bit more frequently and like the latest and greatest, 5G capable might be something for them.
The early adopters always run into issues. There is some benefit to being first to market but there are plenty of companies (Apple, Toyota, for example) that let others make the path then come in with more polished versions.
Buying this phone simply because it's an early adopter of 5G is probably a silly thing to do. However if you feel this phone (without 5G) is worth it and you're the type to upgrade only every 2-3 years, maybe being 5G capable is a tie-breaker and helps future proof the phone a bit.
My cousin is a 24 year old machinist. His base salary is probably close to 50k but he's working 50-60 hours per week which adds up quickly. He just finished his apprenticeship.
Every manufacturing facility is looking for machinists / tooling specialists so they're is huge demand and low supply. I think 80k would be easy to get with just a little experience.
No term limits and all the politician cares about is re-election. Trump has spent more time campaigning and golfing than being the President in his first 2 years.
That's a separate issue and has no bearing on these twerps doing jail time.
In my area it's now only legal to have a speed camera operating when there is an officer physically at the intersection.
I don't think it's a good solution but at least it serves to limit the revenue stream for the company that operates them.
It's been about 5 years since I last touched social media, isn't it possible to lock it down so only friends can see your postings?
1st amendment applies to government censorship. Corporations can censor as they please.

And now all maps in China will reflect the moon has historically been part of Chinese territory.

What's the point of making the change?

As soon as there is a reasonable chance at success in getting there alive and staying alive, humans will go. Right now it is a one way death sentence.
Priorities have shifted. It's much cheaper to pay Russia to launch our astronauts to ISS than to maintain a special vehicle for that purpose alone.
The capability is there, the desire.. not so much.

My opinion is this is worse than Snowden.

Just replace badminton with e-sports. Both rely on hand- eye coordination and twitch reflexes.

It's not like it will be 5G exclusive.

They seem smarter than you. They understand the trend and are preparing for the future. You're just whining because you don't understand.
Or maybe other drivers would not have got behind the wheel in that circumstance.
