My God, not all of us have 20+Gig music collections. I have something like 3 gigs worth of music, I am almost constantly listening to it, and it never gets old to me. Although I'm sure I would eventually outgrow a 2 or 4 gig iPod, that won't be for a while, when I can actually afford it.
On a side note...there''s WAY too much speculation in this topic. I mean, the MW keynote is in under 10 1/2 hours as of this writing - we'll find out then! For the love of God!
Umm.... ToySight is for Mac...
And the Xbox doesn't have standard USB-shaped ports, which means they would have to design specialized cameras, or at the very least special connectors, to make it work. Unless you have one of those messy mods.
If anyone is still looking at this thread, here's my take on the prices:
Current lowest iPod: $300. This price is not going up. If anything, it would go down, but it probably won't.
Lowest possible price for the new 2GB iPod: $100. This is pretty much out of the question, as it would be dirt cheap. We know Apple is all about everything but being dirt cheap. $130-150 seems much more likely for the 2GB version.
Considering how apple's prices usually go, the 4GB is likely to be $100 more expensive than whatever the 2GB costs. I would predict $150 and $250, with the 10GB remaining at $300.
No.:)
He doesn't seem to be trying to be funny tho, or if he is he didnt do a particularly good job of it... Unless he was trying to make fun of us Apple types, in which case I feel I have the right to be offended...
....Did you bother reading the post, or just the title?
People like you give the rest of us mac nerds a bad rep. *Most* of us know what we're talking about, I swear!
On a side note, g IS compatible with both a and b... but if my college cafeteria is any indication, only a small portion of users will bring their laptop to eat/drink with them. (I'm often the only one in the 200+ person cafeteria with his laptop open, and this is in a school where most students are *required* to have apple laptops with airport.) So, because of the small number of people using it, you probably wouldn't notice a difference between b and g in bandwidth. I'd go with b.
iChat AV offers awesome voice+video chatting, for less than Toshiba's $200 price point. ($120 for an iSight on ebay, $30 for the software) I haven't tried it myself, but MSN for PC has similar features for even less.
I don't see how this made it to/. There are already tons of VoIP services that can be downloaded, and don't cost $200. Not to mention the fact that real phones with all these features are probably about $20.
Can someone tell me what makes this VoIP different from any other one? I'd shut up then.
It needs to be used in conjunction with Toshiba's Strata CTX telephones as well as Toshiba laptops, Tablet PCs and desktops.
Ooh, I want to pay $200 for the ability to call only other Toshiba customers.
Thank you for wasting all of our time, Slashdot.
Wait a second.... so you think your family should be treated like cheap bastards because they got you pretty much the same performance for about a third of the cost? That's SMART. Not CHEAP.
My problem with MPlayer (aside from my habit of accidentally trashing the disk image on occasion) is that I can't set it to be the default video player, due to the way MPlayer requires you to drag it manually into the playlist....:-/
That's not the only reason though.... smaller IS faster, due to the time it takes for the signals, which travel at the speed of light, to traverse the chips.
You're right though, cheaper is good as well.:)

I don't guess you're counting the majority of video and graphics profressionals that use Apples? They're the ones the high-speed G5's are targeted at. Unless by "the other computer" you're talking about the eMacs....
It has a calendar? Huh?
Heh, I use Mozilla chat Net and email... works VERY well.
And no, it's not bloatware. All these extra features come only when you call them... not clogging the popup menus and such, like ICQ or MSN.

Ikaruga was a great and innovative 2D shooter.... even Maddox liked it.
