I both reacted very strongly to a bee sting and to later allergic testing when I was 6. And then didn't react when I was 18--which was part of a whole series of allergic tests. Mind you, this was all several decades ago. I do think a lot is truly hype, which just makes it harder for those who are truly allergic (hard to test desensitizing treatments when the target group isn't properly characterized).
Ummm, go to any beach in Europe and knock yourself out.
Very true. But unless you're willing to be groped, irradiated, swim *really* well, or have a lot of bucks for a ship ticket, it's kind of difficult to get to Europe.
...a kid allergic to bee stings or peanuts or something is going to need an Epi-Pen for the rest of his life. It makes a lot of sense to give a prescription for a year or two.
Not necessarily. I was highly allergic to bee stings when I was 6. I was tested by a allergist when I was 18 and found not to be allergic at that time. You have to follow up on conditions.
Yes, the phrasing of the article is flamebait.
The reality is for a top-end weapon system, you're going to design it to be used against the most difficult target as you project it will be over the lifetime of service. In this case, that means the toughest air defence systems, which would be Russia and China.
A smart opponent will bring broad spectrum active jammers (on automatic drones) and now the ground pilots can't fly the drones. I don't think any drone A.I. is going to be good enough in air combat maneuvering so down they will go.
It's just another version of combined arms. Plan for both and make them able to play together.
If you want a reliable distro that will survive every other distro, you go with Debian. The developers fight like cats and dogs and it just keeps going on, getting better and better.
It's the same problem that killed Dolly the sheep early.
Mammal female germ cells avoid activity prior to fertilization to minimize oxidation damage to their mitochondria. This may or may not be dealt with by then breeding normally thereafter.
I'm a Debian user but have installed Ubuntu in a previous workplace. I recently talked to a friend who runs IT for a small company. He's moved from Ubuntu to Linux Mint over the GNOME 3 and Unity interface changes. (I personally am using GNOME 3 in legacy mode with a few changes to avoid the changes.)
Google didn't claim to not be evil. They approve an internal motto of "don't be evil" which is far from the same thing. The motto got leaked and they've been paying for it ever since, because nearly any action could be seen as evil by someone.
The problem here is I think that Google and its minions think what they do can't possibly be evil because, well, they have this moto. I.e. what's good for Google is by definition not evil. >:(
Lots of comments about threats to freedom, inappropriate response, with some considering the threat of the rioting. All points to consider.
No one (except the third category above indirectly) is considering what's it like to be in that riot. Someone decides to beat you to a pulp (for whatever reason) better hope you have more mates and bystanders interested in backing you up than those who want to beat you or cheer the beaters on.
And all that looting, buildings burnt to the ground. People losing their homes, their workplaces, their work of a lifetime. So what some of them may have insurance.
There's a whole lot of wrong that has led to all these young men (and some women) wanting to rip up and burn down the town. But that doesn't matter right now, because there's ongoing rioting, a threat to life and limb. People are already been hurt and soon some will be killed.
This has to be stopped. And then the causes fixed.
And David Cameron, for all his flaws, is the man in the hotseat. He's the political leader that has to find a way to stop this. And he has to answer in Parliament during Question Period every day.
And I hope he and his government find one quickly.
All you who've crowed out your protests, when have you been a leader? With people's lives in you hands, with things out of control, having to find a difficult and quick solution not now, but *right* *fucking* *now*.
At time, this is like war. You "win" the war--end the violence by defeating the will to continue the violence. Then you "win" the peace--make sure that things are properly right and free afterwards.
Mistakes will be made. Better short-term mistakes than people maimed and killed.

If Google is the new MS, then at least the trains run on time. (most days)
Saying the trains run on time has been a propaganda lie before....
Ah, the "everyone else is doing it" excuse. How quaint.
Maybe next time "I was only following orders" will get used. >:(
What happened to it?

Erk. Just read the process again. Gene into somatic cell nucleus, then somatic cell nucleus into regular egg. Doesn't have that problem.

Try reading _Harperland: The Politics of Control_ and see what past colleagues and coworkers say about him.
"Look, We're the FBI. That means your fucked, no matter what you do."
The question that is begging to be asked is ---
Who will FBI the FBI ?
The FBFBII ?
There's a good one in a previous comment thread above here.
Oh, if only it could be that way.... >:)
Wow! I never thought some good could come of Reality TV. There but for all that drivil we could be facing Alien Invasion! >:)
Was that before or after the Lupin craze? >:)
Don't feel bad, I didn't read it either.
House or Senate?
Yes there is. :)

Has anyone noticed any recent appointees or elected officials seemingly always wearing a plain gold ring?
Well, you wouldn't notice them when they had the ring on, would you?
Only those who cannot wield the full power become invisible.
For a minute there, I thought they were talking about Aaron Burr.

I like Spartans. Macs too.
