Because there's lots of Linux apps that I'd like to run on my phone. And because then I can unistall all the pointless crapware and spyware that I dont even want on my phone. But mostly because I could then finally get my phone to work how I actually want it to, not how Samsung/Google thinks I should change myself to fit their phone.
I'm actually not trolling. A little sensitive aren't we?
> The beauty of Windows is that it has a HUGE amount of software.
Yep and the beauty of Linux is that it has a HUGE amount of FREE software, and I can get far more done with Linux a lot more quickly and easily that I ever can with windows. This hardware has much more power than any Android tablet I've ever seen, which is why I'm asking.
Since you're obviously clueless: Android isn't even slightly the same thing as a Linux distro like Debian or Ubuntu.
I agree, and independently came to the very same conclusion a while ago about him being another old-school industrialist (which as you say is not a good thing). I'm just saying that the report makes a very large accusation that Musk IS firing people just because they are pro-union without zero actual evidence, just on the basis that one or more pro-union people were amongst the hundreds fired. That said I could totally imagine him doing it.
>> Once you have 40 million files trying to find those 10 JPG files you took of your son's birthday party can take an hour or more.
Thats what you get for using a crap OS like Windows.
Don't just dump everything in the top level of your "My Pictures" folder and expect some photo app to sort it all out. Organize things hierarchically in the file system in sub directories (or as you Windows users call them, folders).
"Openly pro-union workers were among those fired this week"
Assuming it was an average distribution of bad workers that were dismissed, I'd actually rhink it was a miracle if there were literally no pro-union employees amongst them.
Seriously, good for you. Most Democrats/so-called Liberals that I know are all about totally silencing anyone that doesn't march lock-step with their prescribed party-political agenda.

Really? I actively want Microsoft to fail in the gaming space because the only reason I (have to) keep a Windows partition at all is for gaming, because AAA games developer still don;t get it yet. Otherwise, Windows is a giant steaming turd that I've been longing to rid my otherwise great Linux computer of for decades.
Maybe if Microsoft keeps failing for PC gaming hard enough, developers of AAA games will FINALLY get a clue and start taking Linux support more seriously.
>> you've claimed that someone needs to have a CS degree to know what they're doing in this field, yet now you seem to be saying that what your degree actually did was teach you how to study further topics and more detail by yourself,
Yes, both are true. They are not mutually exclusive.
>> writing a program that serves text files using a simplified form of HTTP is easy.
Wow, nice ASSumptions without knowing anything about what I acutally wrote.
>> Again, the knowledge included in even the best undergraduate CS course wouldn't get you close to what you need to understand to do that.
Yes it does, or at least mine did. It gave me the basis to go out and find, and more to the point, fully understand, deep technical information about specific software tasks that I don't already know how to implement.. Without the degree I wouldn;t have understood some fundamental concepts that I would need to to properly understand what I was reading (even though like most have-a-go programmers I probably would have thought I did, but would have been wrong).
Illegal immigrants were and still are having anchor babies just as a tactical strategy. There needs to be a clear deterrent to that.
I really meant GNU/Linux not just the Linux kernel.
Baloney.
If my phone ran Linux I could simply dump my work laptop/desktop and keep/do everything on my phone.

I wish they would just run Linux natively and dump the whole Android part.
>> women are more likely then men to be obese
Intuitively it seems right, but please cite references.
I for one am outraged at your being outraged at others outrage.
>> it would "shame" and even "trigger" those with eating disorders.
Oh no! We must shelter those delicate little flowers from facts and truthful information!
I wish they would but somehow I can't imagine it.

Then finish what you already started and totally dump Windows.
Can you totally get rid of Windows and install Linux natively on these?
Either get your shit together or pick a different career.

But that's you.

Of course it is.
Thanks for proving my point. He makes a polite argument and your only response is to personally attack him.
Totally agree. There's a very real difference between suppressing free speech and punishing someone for not doing a professional job.
Seriously, good for you.
