>> the dealership's action was clearly illegal, since once the balance is paid off, "it's not your car anymore."
Yet no-one seems to care that GM and Tesla are building exactly the same tech into their cars in a very non-optional way. You literally can't buy any Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, or GMC without Onstar already installed.
>> "it will no longer download operating system files to users' computers without their permission"
Translation: we will simply add yet more opaque/vague terminology to the already far too long EULA so no-one actually reads it all, where clicking through implies consent.
They should, but most liberals would rather take someone else's word for those groups being "Peecee" and therefore OK, because they are far too lazy and have far too much of a short attention span to ever bother with doing their own research. Thats why they are liberals in the first place.
>> "Curtis claimed, a woman who appeared strung out on drugs came to the house after he moved in asking for âoeSteveâ or his ex-wife.âoeI assumed she was probably a regular visitor to the house looking for drugs from the previous tenants,â
So in short your assertion is entirely based on a 3rd-hand assumptions reported by a news source well-known for being very biassed and pushing the democrat agenda. I see.
>> The most memorable detail involved the landlord revealing that the propertyâ(TM)s jacuzzi was destroyed, as if it were âoecovered in acid.â
Hardly conclusive evidence of meth manufacture. I've actually caused very similar damage to a plastic bath just trying to get rid of hard water stains/calcium deposits with strong chemicals.
>> "The âoemeth and pornâ activities in the property rented to Bannon, but mainly occupied by his ex-wife and a man who is now serving a 10-year sentence for cocaine trafficking. Neighbors donâ(TM)t seem to recall Bannon ever being around."...and you read that as conclusive evidence it must have been him?
Just wondering but is it true that you happen to be a Democrat?
I don't agree with the opinion or agenda of neo-nazis, but unlike Google I defend their right to have and express one. What Google is continuing to do is blatant radical left-wing peecee censorship/silencing of any alternative opinions. It seems highly ironic to me that Google take the stance of being strongly against naziism yet take a notably similar approach to censoring freedom of speech.

Not in my opinion. They've clearly been the ghetto option for decades. If budget isn't as much of an issue as reliability then Intel has always been a better buy.

"Why are you and I subsidizing Elon Musk's products"
Freaking excellent question. I suspect its the Tesla cars phone home/self-driving thing. The government LOVE the idea of more ways to spy on and removing any/all control from the people.
Actually Its very clearly you being a c*nt. Whether you agree with his points or not he was politely stating his side, but you responded with an uncalled for highly insulting personal attack.
I thought it was a very well-reasoned document that at least should be discussed, but there's an obvious problem at Google management having the typical radical socialist approach of silencing anything that doesn't march lock-step with their clueless PeeCee views.
Look at the response from "Danielle, Googleâ(TM)s brand new VP of Diversity, Integrity & Governance. "
"Iâ(TM)m not going to link to it" (the emai itselfl) "here as itâ(TM)s not a viewpoint that I or this company endorses, promotes or encourages"
then right after, she goes on to say "..fostering a culture in which those with alternative views, including different political views, feel safe sharing their opinions...."
Typical socialist two-faced double-standard of giving the idea of alternative ideas lip-service, but then actually stifling any that dare to come along, with absolutely no sense of any irony.
ACtually the new version wastes more space. You can turn the toolbar off in the old version. We're just stuck with a big chunk of pointless ugly grey in the new version.
So that article makes the point:
>> the dealership's action was clearly illegal, since once the balance is paid off, "it's not your car anymore."
Yet no-one seems to care that GM and Tesla are building exactly the same tech into their cars in a very non-optional way. You literally can't buy any Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, or GMC without Onstar already installed.
Stupid court.
Because not one of the management had any clue what was actually going on, and didn't force him to do it?
Sure.
>> If they REALLY wanted to fix the system
Look at the last 35 years. Why on earth would you believe Microsoft suddenly want to fix anything for our benefit?

Totally agree.
I might disagree with someone's alternative opinion/philosophy, but I will very much defend their right to have and express one.
>> this is a fine testament to the advantages of products that spend their entire lives phoning home to the vendor
I think you mean disadvantages

Please post the link to that.
Did you even read the article you linked to?

I love the way he furiously grasps for anything/everything else to blame but himself.
>> Then don't use Google.
Yeah good luck with using the internet but totally avoiding Google.
>> Google goes a little further, but not much
Really? Is that what happened when they fired one of their own employees for simply writing a polite, well-intentioned plea for common sense?
>> Google isn't preventing anyone
yes they are. Have you been living under a rock? They'ire firing them and forcefully disconnecting them.

For all those people that continue to use Windows, really how bad does it have to get before you finally switch to something better/more secure?

Its funny that the only way we can find out whats actually going on in the US is to read Russian news.

Totally agree, I absolutely hated that switch. It was so obviously bad that for the longest time I honestly thought it must be a bug or something.
Anyway, I just use Pluma instead. Its basically a branch of Gedit that kept the old interface.
