Did you not read the article, sir? Stores that impliment a loyalty card system RAISE THEIR PRICES TO DO SO. This is not what I'd call a discount! This is stealing my $5 to offer me $4.99!
That would work in the northern US and Canada, but I live in the southern US, where even the winter is quite temperate and the summer is downright uncomfortable.
1. Although Napster was shut down, I know a large number of people who still remember it fondly. (My own father particularly loved Napster, and was enraged that it was shut down.) 2. Having to keep track of payment will complicate the new Napster. 3. Napster's strength was in it's population. Unless they can get a big following, they'll be rather useless.
If I had to gamble on it, I would bet 1 to 4 against this new Napster.
Surely the porn magnet wishes to avoid kids seeing porn? After all, it's 1) Bad publicity, 2) Not productive (kids don't pay) and 3) Likely to involve the wrath of the Federal Government.
Unless they're doing some sort of "Hook-em now" scheme like the cigarette companies are accused of doing.
I am incoherently angry! I am tempted to shout and yell, but I'm going to attempt to keep it under control!
Why does everyone seem to think that they deserve only positive reviews, and that negative reviews are a crime against them?
I want to know who this professor is so I never have to take a class that he teaches! My reason for this is that I am already convinced that he is an idiot!
I see no examples of these new jobs that they keep talking about. Just about corporations saving money.
Corporations saving money is no guarentee of employment at all -- they could just increase their dividends to attract more investment. They could just increase their CEO's salary.
Even if they do make new jobs, there's no distingishing between wage-slaving jobs against salaried professionals.
Most bosses I know of really do seem to think that all employees are potentially on call 24/7.
After all, "It's a bad economy hur hur hur do what I say or I get another monkey that only needs half your salary you bloated overpaid college hippy scum."
Mom needed a new computer. Dad wanted to spend thousands to get something 3+GhZ and all the ram his money could buy. (He kept asking if 10GB were possible. I still don't understand what he wanted all that ram for.)
Mom wanted windows. And her hardware specifications were more down to Earth.
I really can make my own music. If you email me, I'll send you either a midi conversion or the original IT module. (please specify)
I am never buying a CD again. Ever.
The RIAA regularly insults my intelligence, and if I want music, then from now on I'll just make it myself.
Bad, naughty, evil, RIAA!
Now if my computer explodes, I plan to sue you for not only hacking, but vandalism and terrorism.
Had you not done this, I would have just assumed that exploding computers were due to freak environmental conditions!

I do like the idea of keeping it in the freezer.
I meant that I don't notice that the box is sitting there. I mean that I don't have to notice the hardware.
I did not mean that the interior of the box can be seen.
Wood is maybe not the best idea. I'd like my computer to be silent, dissipate it's heat properly, and otherwise be transparent.
I just can't see wood fulfilling any of these requirements.
Used to be spam tried to tell me something. Now it's so clogged with filter-defeaters that they can't manage to squeeze in a message.
Hope they recover at least their sysadmin's time.
SCO these days seems to be all bark and no bite.

A lot of things we silly humans do is motivated by money...so take away any motivation!
Make it two million.

I see that slashdot's slowing down of my PS post didn't arrive in time.
I'll say it again. I DID NOT GET TO READ THE ARTICLE.
So if I got the facts wrong, I'm going to look like a real idiot now.
On one hand, typing a URL and getting a "BUY THIS PAGE" page annoys the bejesus out of me.
On the other hand, going to jail for setting up a website seems....excessive. Surely just taking it down and a fine would be enough?
Yeah, I think I understand where you're coming from. Indeed, students can be pretty "smacktard" like sometimes.
Yeah, removed review listing sounds okay.

We only keep corporations because we find them convinient. They have no right to live, profit, or whatever.
Now while it's sad when they die (ie: go out of business) because the people involved are out of work, it's no skin off my back.
I see no examples of these new jobs that they keep talking about. Just about corporations saving money.
:P

New jobs added WHERE, wise guy.

Turn it off and the boss freaks out and fires you. The demand for instant contact has spoiled people somewhat.
"Without the second system, you could only twitch."
Um? Hello? I move by "twitching" the right muscle at the right time. No quantum physics needed.
My brain? In my leg? I'd rather back it up in a location less likely to be bumped, such as my body cavity.

Mom won.
