Also, don't forget that the Vista feature everybody loves to bitch about, UAC, is the one that causes normal apps to run with ordinary non-admin privileges.
Visual Studio Team System for Developers has a pretty good profiler that supports call timing and allocation charts. It doesn't have any graphs though.
SSL does nothing to prove you're connecting to the right site if the attacker gets a cert from a CA. Most of the CAs now have "instant" SSL certs which have zero identity checking and a lower price. Very few users pay attention to the SSL icon, but even fewer open up the certificate properties and verify that the organization name on the cert is from who they think it is.
Also, you can make it essentially clear the cache on each browser exit by setting browser.cache.memory.enable to true and browser.cache.disk.enable to false.
One thing I hate about Wikis is how disorganized they get. They have no navigation system, and people don't like to mark obsolete pages as deprecated. Also, ones that are publicly accessible on the web get spammed a lot.
I have a Dell Axim X3i. It's great. 802.11b, 400 MHz processor, 64 MB of RAM, 64 MB of ROM (32 MB of which can be used for user storage), aluminum stylus included, great looks, and a really cool docking station. Only thing I don't like is the crappy support and the fact that Dell hasn't released a Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition upgrade and doesn't seem to intend to either. Windows Mobile 2003 is fine, but I wish I had the landscape rotation in Internet Explorer.
Here's a support transcript I had while trying to get info about upgrading my Axim X3i to Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition:

I am an owner of an Axim X3i. I was delighted when Windows Mobile 2003
Second Edition came out. However, my excitement was dampened when I
learned
that Dell would not be releasing an update for the X3 and X3i. I am
unsure
about purchasing Dell products again.
I and 3396 other people (see petition at
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi? WM03SE)
would like your company to release a firmware upgrade for the new
operating
system for Axim X5, X3, and X3i devices.
All current devices running Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003 are
technically capable of running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.
I and many other people would be willing to purchase an upgrade to
Windows
Mobile 2003 Second Edition.
How can a company patent one-click shopping?
If you think about it, one-click shopping is just a system for storing credit card info and address info in an account, then facilitating purchases without requiring to enter that info again.
Software patents are just pathetic.
That story's from 2000. I can connect to a PPTP VPN just fine from my Comcast connection.
Also, don't forget that the Vista feature everybody loves to bitch about, UAC, is the one that causes normal apps to run with ordinary non-admin privileges.
The Zune is currently being sold in the US only. If you're in the UK, you're not going to see *anyone* w/ a Zune unless they imported it.

Sounds like a testament to the quality of PRC engineering.

This sounds cool. Too bad the US didn't win... :(
That should be modded Insightful. I wish I had mod points...:(
How about MIME multipart messages with both HTML and text? :-) Then everyone's happy.
And you, sir, can't spell credence.
The language doc you linked to was for Java 1.1 back in 2000.

Moderators: please, please mod this funny.
When will these perverted SCO morons stop? I am SO tired of their obviously-false claims.
Microsoft isn't trying to shut out all clients but their own, they are now only allowing SSL connections, so IMs will be encrypted in transit.
