Couldn't a similar method be applied to detect unnatural light? Say... an alien NYC? It could greatly increase our efforts in finding intellegent life outside of our own. At least smart enough to make a lightbulb.
Who cares about operating system usage? I run a bunch of PCs. I don't use MACs very often because I have been using Windows and now Linux most of my life, but I still like them. When the miniMacs came out I had to pick one up. Very cool, but now it belongs to my father. Does he also use a Palm?
Based on that trailer. It seems that the ability to parachute is tied to that mission. As in: Get on play, Do thing, Jump out back. Cut scene: You, jumping and parachuting. Personally, I hope that's not true. I want to grab a parachute and use it as a way to escape something or whatever. I'm just saying what it looks like.
I've always found it ammusing when you see laws and rules for the Internet based on geographical location. The state of Iowa says that spam is illegal or China won't let you visit pages that bash China for example. We need a more permanant solution, and a common Internet law kind of thing.
That article didn't go into much detail. I don't know what kind of system MS uses to run Hotmail, MSN and other services, but where's the multiple location clustered redundant load balancing system? My only guess is that someone at MS really messed up their own DNS systems, which of course would take it all "down" (by name at least). Does anyone know what actually happened?
Volvo will never actually take this car into production, of course.
Wow, what do you get out of that comment? It's almost like saying... We will never make this car, it's a really stupid idea. We just want women to think that their opinion matters.
That's exactly why I'm waiting:)
I am just saying that I would like to see more research done for the greater good of the industry, and not for the 8GB (who needs 8GB) CF card, or the smaller iPod, or what have you. wishful thinking, I know...
I'm waiting for the day that my PC doesn't have a hard drive, CDROM drive, or anything else mechanical in it. If 8GB can be put on a CF card, being about 1" x 1" x.25", when is more development going to be put into replacing my 60GB hard drive with something the same size (3.5 inch standard HDD size) that uses eprom or something similar? I don't care about smaller and smaller and smaller sizes of hardware, I care about not having to deal with the motoro of my hard drive dying in 4 or less years.
I see it more like this...
Them: "Thank you for contacting HP. Hablar espanol, dame 'espanol'. For English, please stay on the line. For technical support, please say 'Support'."
Me: "YOU DIRTY ASS WHORE BITCHES... support"
My wife just finished here 4 year BS degree as an EE. She was one of the top students at a very respectable school (Valparaiso University) and hasn't found a EE job since she graduated in May. The school's placement assistance program can't find anything for her either. Honestly, I would recommend either ME, or nursing. Nursing sounds like a joke, but you can go from there to being a doctor. Plus, you'll always be able to find places in your area that needs someone with nursing experience. ... but, I'd go Mechanical
My wife was visiting a near by company (I can't say who) that has lots of hand-held an other types of radio powered by Linux. She said they seem to be very stable and easy to manage. Why not phones? The concept is already there...
Yeah,
I remember the voice singing in that, it was very ammusing, and neato, how it would just make each syllable a note of the song and hold it for as long as needed.
It was Very fun in high school to start that going on a few pages of text about how the school smelled like sewage and the teachers had "no brains", hide it, and walk away.
good times.
Of course it does not sound like a real person singing, BUT, it does sound like singing. Sure, it sounds awful compared to the real thing, but so does synthetic guitar or any other instrument. I have to say it's an impressive waste of research and development, but still impressive.
When I play Couter-Strike, or BattleField, I don't care if I die. I just spawn back in next round. I may try to take the game "seriously" for about 5 minutes, but then I just go komikaze into the field running and spraying. What happens when soilders don't take their lives seriously after battle "simulation" for 6 weeks straight? It goes the same for me when I play paintball... it's all serious, until I try and rambo it up a notch and end up with a new multi-colored ass.
It's something for phsyciatric stundy, imho.
What about those of us that understand that not moving your entire body or controller when steering or jumping, speeding up or slowing down creates the same result in the game? I just sit, press buttons, and watch the screen. This would then cost me hundreds of dollars to just stand and press buttons...
I agree.
I didn't even start eating less, I just stopped drinking Mountain Dew all day. Then I joined a martial arts class for 2 hours per week. I went from 260lbs to 180lbs and ripped in about 10 months. I will never trust any diet other than good old fasion "eat less, excerise more".
I have never understood why companies want their CDs to only play on CD players and not on PCs. If all CDs couldn't be played on PC, but could be played on CD players, people would just rip them the old fasion way... 1x analog/optical ripping. So, if we can copy the music no matter what they do, why do they do it?
If you follow these plans you can build a stylish 80's looking sports car that gets 128 MPG! This plan is not even for a hybrid. It's a straight diesel engine.
I do not work for this company, it's just a cool looking car that I hope to build one day
I have a large storage. I found that if you want to organize anything without symbolic links you must stick with a strict model. In my root I organize any platform specific applications and others into platform named directories. (eg: Win32, Linux, MAC, Palm, PPC, etc...) I also have directories called Incoming, ISOs, Media, and Projects I also have a seperate share for my, and my wifes user profiles.
Under the Win32 folder I have a scheme of Applications, Gaming, Drivers, Servers, etc... Under Linux I have a scheme similar to Source, Binaries, Modules, etc...
Once I decided on that organization model it was really easy to just keep expanding the same principle to subdirectories.
For a second, I thought they meant that this software would watch your mouse moving and clicking habits to identify you. Then I realised that all they want is to be able to draw a stupid unique symbol with a mouse. This just seems to be the dumbest thing in the world. It's not a bad idea, but it's getting hype as if it were some fancy new security technology.
What's up with this?
The security system works with both optical and mechanical mice.

Ouch.

It had multiple voices... and was fun. MC Hawking style.... "mmmmmmmMMMMMMMMM ya"

Yup, that's when the real fun starts. You would need to have VBScript just to add/remove programs.

dumbasses
