    what are the "reserved rights of the States?" you ignorantly ask?

    well, that's sorta explained in the 10th amendment:

    "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

    if the CONSTITUTION doesn't specifically say "X is the job of the federal government" or "the federal govt. has the right to do X"

    the first article of the constitution lists the delegated powers....

    The Delegated Powers are as follows:[2]

    * The Congress shall have power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, [in order] to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

    * To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

    * To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

    * To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization;

    * To establish uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

    * To coin [not print] Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin;

    * To fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

    * To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

    * To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;

    * To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

    well.... i don't see why, we didn't lose anyone in mercury, scratch 3 for Apollo 1, 7 for chall and then 7 more for columbia... i wasn't alive for apollo or mercury so i couldn't really tell you...

    as for the USSR.... WTF cares? they cheated anyway...

    no, the difficult part is, the bad guys look just like the good guys, and the bad guys aren't standing there firing rockets at you, they use kitchen timers to set off rocket launchers, or IEDs, so they're long gone by the time their shit kills our guys.

    situational awareness is the key and the more information we have on the bad guys, the better we can do our jobs,

    but i didn't like their interface's or they had issues with the database size i needed....
    i settled on Legacy for a while, and now use FTM.

    i've been a member of Ancestry.com for about 4-5 years now and haven't found any other site which allows access to so many resources.
    my parents divorces when i was 3 and i hardly knew anything about my father's family's history....

    through Ancestry.com i was able to track back to ireland in the 1800's, found my 3rd great-grandfather's naturalization papers, and found distant cousins living a few miles away i'd never known about.

    i am not a mormon, but i have found them (as a rule) to be generous, helpful and not at all preachy, no one has tried to convert me to "the dark side" (which was a concern when i first got involved in my searching...)

    i'm a recovering cathoholic, my family has all already been baptised in the catholic church, if the mormons want to do any baptising, eh... let 'em, it's not my belief, it's not my family's belief, so it doesn't matter what they believe *shrug* and it shouldn't matter to anyone else.

    *also*

    the mormon church sent missionaries out to pretty much every country on the planet to gather historical records, and they were doing this a hundred years ago.... and continue today, they are probably the single greatest resource for genealogical information out there.

    you have to take what you find on ancestry.com with a grain of salt (if posted by other members) and you have to be careful searching the records and documents, but if you're smart and careful, you can find an immense amount of history.

    believe me, i watched it religiously (and also watched the even more soap-opera-y Caprica)

    simply because of the fact that there isn't any other decent sci-fi on tv anymore....

    Enterprise (worst theme song EVAR) got cancelled just when it was getting good,
    Galactica was long in the tooth, and then they gave us a cop-out ending...
    DON'T even get me started on Firefly... i'll start killing people....

    so yah... syfy will put out another Galactica prequel (which will probably suck)
    personally i think we need a 6th star trek series (the new frontier books were well written, why not go there?)

    either that or the stupid-assed syfy channel should just add more wrastling to it's lineup and call itself "The USA Network 2"
    because they certainly don't have any sci-fi shows in their line-up....
    Ghost Hunters? Scare Tactics? Fact or Faked? Hollywood Treasure? that crap belongs on Fox or discovery....

    WH13, Eureka, Sanctuary? hey, i like Amanda Tapping, and i couldn't stand sanctuary.... Eureka i could barely get through season 1, WH13 i watched just because there was nothing else....
