I hate to rain on your parade, but the US did provide loads of support to Britain during the falklands. Though, I suppose you could argue this was at a time when we "free nations" had to "stick together" to oppose the "red menace". I've read else where that other supplies were provided to UK forces for the conflict from the US, in addition to what wikipedia mentions, though the source escapes me at the moment (probably one of Jim Dunigan's books).
Ok, how did he break the law? By reverse engineering a trade secret (which is legal, in both Norway and the US)? For your information, Jon didn't write the code, he merely posted it.
DeCSS does nothing to encourage piracy or help DVD pirates. DVDs have been pirated long since before DeCSS came out.
Perhaps you should rethink this subject a bit. A cartel/monopoly wants you to only be able to view their media on their terms at extortion like prices and license fees. Someone creates a process by which you can bypass this. Now who's the thief?
Let me commend you on the excellent straw man attack!

Ah, haven't seen it on the net, but I remember it quite well. I loved the battle on the death star (which was a waffle iron) where they were using power drills as blasters.
I'd like to see a movie based on Marc Miller's Traveller RPG, 'specially during the rebellion period. The special effects would cull out the sheep from their homes and all the sci-fi junkies too.
(for those who don't know, Traveller was probably the first ever sci-fi RPG...)
The British Secret Service doesn't use the PPK any more, they use the HK VP-70M. Seen a recent Bond movie lately? The pistol Bond now has is a VP-70M, not a PPK. But then again, this is a nitpick, and not relevant.

Yes, let's privatize public libraries! Heck, we're doing it with prisons and schools, let's do it with libraries!!!! Just think of it, your community library which was privatized can have an IPO, with shareholders getting rich! Why worry about making a profit, since Red Hat and Amazon don't make any profit and their stock is doing halfway decent. Hell, your library's stock could be its product.
The problem, though, is when you use temps as if they were real employees, to get out of paying real benefits. These were not contractors, who usually make a larger sum of money compared to permenant employees.
Why is telnetd installed in the first place?
...by the fact one of the tags is 'storage' and the ambiguity of that tag with this story?
He would solve equations in a strip club...
Ironic what you say about MIT and biology, considering that MIT has one of the top 3 genome sequencing centers in the country, the Broad Institute.

That was my best guess, since Monsanto is sort of a agrichemical and pharmaceutical company.
Of course, I'll keep trying if you'd be kind enough to drop a good hint...
So, tell me, how's life at Searle/Monsanto?
I suppose the merger with Pharmacia/Upjohn doesn't help any with the stock price, eh?
He never stole any chips. Please provide a reference for this claim that he stole chips. You must be mistaking him for another kevin.

Absolutly hillarious.
Name some high end enterprise features on high end hardware. Please, be detailed.
The people who want the movie to stick to the rules are the rules lawyers, gamers whom GM's disdain the most, with the notable exception of munchkins.

Like the Lotus in "For Your Eyes Only"? That got wrecked pretty good. Glad my car doesn't have that kind of theft deterant.
Perhaps I was wrong about what is used in the new Bond films, but the VP70 is what is used in real life.
It was horrible.
Try getting ahold of "Unauthorized Access" if you want a good movie.
I'm pretty sure it's a VP70. Back in the 80's Her Majesty's Secret Service changed standard firearms and dropped the PPK in favor of the VP70.

Please, enlighten us, oh wise one...
Not only that, we would be rich when our privatized libraries have that big IPO!

goto here to look up sites that are blocked by websense. The ACLU site is catagorized as an "Activist Group".

The girl, though, is simply throwing up her hand in frustration.
No, she's just getting ready to bash the fuck out of the computer because the keyboard locked up.
