Disclaimer: I dont use Itunes But judging from the other comments they already embrace alternative/indie music. someone commenting that they've seen albums for $1. The way I see it if Apple consolidates the market they'll pwn the RIAA. Say 50% of all music distribution is through iTunes. RIAA doesnt wanna play fine? dont somehow doubt they'd be able to part with 50% of their revenue w/o some heartache? and eventually (yes idealistic) it'll give indies et. al more exposure to cut down on RIAA's dominance anyways. One can hope? :)

With firefox, I have the option to allow 'all' popups from a specific site. (In essence adding the site to a list of sites that i trust). I didnt see any such option in Opera which caused me to switch back. A couple of sites I use (2-3) regularly have an unhealthy reliance on popup windows.

I currently have the RAZR admittedly not a great phone but I was comparing the the upper flip part of the fone with the nano and both are about the same thickness and cover the same area (RAZR's flip top is wider but shorter). My point? If they can fit something to the same profile (nano) as half the RAZR i'm sure they could integrate a decent phone in the same sized package? Imagine a flip with the top being like an ipod nano and the bottom being the numeric keypad? Sounds pretty cool to me.
Also along the line of convergence most new subcompact digital camera's do a decent job of capturing 30 fps video (MJPEG / MPEG etc). Yes they dont compare with a video camera but the convenience alone is worth it. Give it another generation or two and I dont see most people (casual video makers) caring enough to buy two separate devices, this will eventually happen with cell phones as well.

Big name actors are needed for shitty movies perhaps. But look at most big hits and they have great storylines and good acting. No offense to actors but they arent as rare as great compelling stories. List our your all time favourite movies and how having a big ticket star would make or break them. Most of the movies i've enjoyed over the past few years were largely great movies and had little to do with who was in them. Did you guys watch the first Matrix because of Keanu's acting chops? not so much, wedding crashers? batman begins? My big fat greek wedding? the original star wars? the titanic was popular among teens because of dicaprio's n kate winslet's star status? my point being great movies make stars not the other way around. And hollywood is well aware of that. On the other hand people do go to watch stars which acts as an insurance policy when they think their movie may be a stinker
