I have this concept I created called "smart dust" which could be used to build swarms of mesh networks of these small computers. They could be dropped from airplanes for example to monitor oil moisture for crops. Eventually these swarms would be self organizing and AI could be introduced. If you are interested in funding my concept, please contact me.
Exactly. It isn't as if you can scan entire networks looking for open ports using a simple shell script. You would have to be a genius to do that, and we all know all those guys work at Google. Solution: shutdown Google. Problem solved.
Oh God, not the old "well they are doing it too!" schtick. The point is that SpaceX is out to make a buck of off taxpayers money, like all of Musk's schemes. He isn't a hero or doing anything noble. Tesla is building EVs for the 0.01% while other manufacturers are actually building affordable EVs today. Hyperloop was a scam from the start. Boring company is the same: attempt to extract public money building tunnels for inefficient transportation scheme.
What are you "betting" on? He is just another scam artist who brought us the lovely Paypal. Remember them? Shady company #1. Now he has baboozled taxpayer money into his newest schemes. The house of cards is falling though.
Don't worry. We will all be living on Mars and admiring the view over cocktails soon. And don't worry about cost: we will just borrow more. The good times will never end!
How can I possibly call a guy using taxpayers money to launch satellites into LEO for the taxpayer funded US military a flim-flam artist? He is a self-made man! We should all so aspire to be as great as him! If only those dullards at NASA were as smart as him we would all be living on Mars by now!
This is a huge win for SpaceX. Everything Musk touches turns to gold. I hear he is going to be building a Hyperloop between NYC and DC soon, and offer rides for a $1 on his LA tunnel.
1) According to your "hero" Musk. Apparently the truth is this guy was whisteblowing about shady practices at Tesla. No surprise there!
2) OK thats nice. 9% of the staff was laid off then?
3) According to your hero Musk, it stopped the production line. And he tried to blame it on the "sabatuer"
4) I am with you on this one. It sure is cheap.
They are spending too much money on the wrong things. It is a pyramid scheme.
Meanwhile, Tesla has been caught lying to investors by a whistleblower, laid off 9% of the workforce, had another fire and is building cars in tents. This is all due to the "shorts" though, not the Tesla management.
ErrP signals have been known for decades. What did these people do? Hook up a muscle monitor to (badly) control a robot if a ErrP signal is detected? Is this what the top engineering universities are producing? I thought AI robots were right around the corner...
Exactly. It is the cult of Musk. Tech people like Rei and Windbourne and Bruce think that "technologists" are going to solve all our problems. The real fact is that Musk is a flim flam artist who made a lot of money selling a scummy company we all hated (PayPal).
Give it up. Rei and Windborne have a lot invested in Tesla. They will never see any flaws. $10 billion in debt with no way out? No problem! Just add another "production line".
Americans would demand the minute rice version.
No problem. Wireless mesh networking using passive energy generation. It would be useful for terraforming Mars.
Point out ANY flaw in my plan. If you can dream it, you can do it!

It might be possible today now that we have Deep Learning Neural Network AI powered by the Cloud. But it was totally impossible to do before that.

SpaceX is going to take us to the Holy Land: Mars.

You better be nice or he won't let you come to Mars with us.

Did they at least pay him royalties?
I remember reading that Musk said we were all living inside a computer simulation. The guy is bonkers.

The difference is that Democrats don't drone on about Jeebus and morality.
Hopefully, but my guess is he won't. He should go to jail for SEC violations on his stock sales, but he probably won't go for that either.
He also attempted to hold a fundraiser for Trump at his house until the backlash made him cancel it.
I wonder what his wife and two daughters think about that. Another Republican with loose morals.
"Apparently (and somewhat astonishingly) this possibility had never been evaluated."
Gee, I wonder why no one ever "researched" this. Maybe they can study why wolves aren't commonly found around major cities next.
