    that sounds awesome. Java awesome. meanwhile, according to my anecdotal evidence, every .NET app I ever ran was dog slow, a resource hog and generally felt shitty.

    I wouldn't download and watch it either.

    it was surprisingly entertaining even if (too) corny at times. more to the tune of real comics than the dark-emo-rage-abortions that were Dark Knight/Watchmen.

    I'm feeling serverly burned out on Comic Book movies. I liked Iron Man, ...

    hahahah, Iron Man.

    ... but have been nonplused by the other offerings in the past few years.

    understandable, because except for Sin City and The Spirit there are no good movie adaptations. unless you got the shitty taste of Roger Ebert -- then they were all good.

    Another problem is that even with classic mode, the window is forced to have a minimum width of around 400 pixels, or you get a horizontal scroll bar and the text runs out of the window on the right, so you have to scroll left and right to read it. This is a hassle on small screens, and an annoyance on bigger screens.

    on small screens (my phone) I read this version. on big screens whenever the CSS from a website pisses me off I just turn on author mode (no styles) in Opera and fit to width if needed. a perfect example of this is the E-O forum, which I constantly read but its so fucking eye gouging that I always have to turn plain text mode on.

    Opera is especially helpful for this because some idiots still embed font and color attributes in HTML instead of using CSS only, and the author mode strips everything off.

    Thank you for making a simple "news for nerds" site more and more bloated and dysfunctional with any new release.

    as long as they keep the classic mode, there will be no problems. I also use GMail in plain html mode and all the bells and whistles don't bother me a bit.

    And even with vegans there is no clear line. For example, why oh why on earth is it ok to eat honey? Because it is an insect? You said,

    I don't hate animals, in fact I love them for being so tasty... however, I don't remember ever slaughtering a bee to get its honey (I also may not know anything about honey harvesting; just sayin').

    I could also clarify any issues you may have with cow's milk and chicken eggs.

    As it stands, it was too overt and tried too hard to make its point for viewers already accustomed to needing to think a bit more.

    that's a constant thing with the show (more so for the last two seasons). it's just rude. but, hey... SYFY!

    I also didn't find the universal acceptance of the "hey, let's discard every scrap of technology and be cavemen!" idea to be realistic or practical in the least.

    I guess they didn't want any toasters they may have had to turn into another batch of killer robots. yeah, cheesy.

    The episodes about torture of cylons, that made you think. The episodes about maintaining government, that made you think. The episodes about their despair and how they coped with it, that made you think. The questions of what you do with a person in charge forced to betray their people, that made you think. All the bad decisions people made because of their human emotions, that made you think.

    all these things made me think what a fucking boring show this has become. I started watching BSG because of the multiple story arcs and general epicness of it all. then it turned into a bad acting drama in which the writers/directors feel the need to show us how edgy and deep they are with all the real-life parallels drawn. thanks. this is why I'm interested in SF, because I want to see the-social-issues-du-jour... IN SPACE! I'm amazed they didn't find time to throw a little 'zomg teh economies!!11' in there before the finale. good fucking riddance. (yes, I will watch Caprica).

    Back in the day I was a rabid (psychotic) Amiga fan/user. As I matured I realized something, IT'S JUST A COMPUTER GUYS. JUST ANOTHER TOOL.

    what I don't get is your hatred for nice equipment. I'm not a mac fanboi, but at home I run exclusively on Compaq/IBM hardware (and some Sun). they are all wonderful pieces of engineering with quality components inside. am I not allowed to actually like my gear? because I do. they're fucking grownup toys.
