I think I am right in saying that itunes essentially runs over the top of quicktime so surely it would be possible to watch quicktime movies with airport express sound? Or at least make a hack that could do it?

I will it's just that you know, effective free health care and a really good public transport system for everybody kind of makes those governments attractive. If I get sick ANYWHERE in Europe they will cover me up to a ridiculous amount. I don't mind paying more for an ipod etc if it means that I get these things. I don't know how good the public health care is in the US but I heard it wasnt that great...

Actually if you worked on the series writing team as I did you would know that a theory on light magnification used in weaponary was posted in an important science journal commented that 'under the right circumstances a ray of light from the sun could in fact cause extreme heat through the application of said ray to metal in a bullet shaped object from a great distance' they planned to use it to detonate bombs without risking bomb crews lives. Unfortunately it was obviously highly impratical and was only successfully achieved once under lab conditions and once on the television show 'McGuyver'.

Look, $15 for a CD is reasonable IF it was a 60 minute high quality audio experience. Instead it's three good tracks, 12 filler tracks and in the end a total rip off. I agree in principle with your movie statement but imagine if you went to see a film and only 15 minutes of it was well made and well acted and then the rest of the film, despite the quality of the actors was poorly produced and poorly acted with crap special effects? Exactly, you expect a an experience from a film but you expect to pay $15 for a shite experience from a CD with a couple of good bits. So if I want to pay for the stuff I use then in principle I should be able to buy the three tracks I want (and not DRMed, but high quality, high fidelity and free use) for $4.

When the tanks of Nazi Germany rolled across Europe a lot Jews who could afford to leave, quite wisely left. But they didnt want to go back to the war torn countries in Europe that they didnt entirely trust, so the British offered them Israel. I dont know who should get the land, but I do think the Palestinians deserve to be recognised as a people of a country i.e. Palestine. The problem with Israel is that it shouldn't exist (I mean historically) but it does so what are we going to do about it?

Well it does have it's own section on slashdot so I guess it makes sense that it should have a lot of subjects at times of activity.
