No, seriously, it did. I wonder if it would be possible to tune the station based on selecting the genomes, as it were, asking for "hard guitar" or perhaps "more thumpin' percussion" or even a range of dates of publication - I'm not into mixing Zappa with Pearl Jam.
How is this different from regular 'ol google maps

Aside from the reverse handed-ness, it appears to be the same as the waaay kewl Google maps. Hey google guys, how about telling us how this is different?
$30 million stating out, and nowhere to go but UP! I want that job. It'll be like the anti-virus and operating systems security industry all over again. Pay us to protect you, make you feel good, and we'll do a crummy enough job so that you keep wanting to pay.
I saw the video (the military applications one) and it was immediately clear that this is still not ready for prime time. The top of the image, which was about 18 inches high, was flapping (it's the only word to describe the effect) as if the image was being projected onto a sheet of cloth in a high (vertical) wind. There was text there at the top that was completely unreadable. So, this technology, while way-kewl, is still just a toy.
I haven't read all the postings, but I didn't see anyone note that the reason we went to the moon was not for economic or sci-fi reasons: it was for war and politics. We were in a race with the USSR to build better delivery systems for our nuclear warheads, and pouring money and talent into a moon race was far more palatable than the truth. We were also in a political race for the world's approval then, and first to the moon would (and did, I think) win us a lot of PR battles in the minds of the undecided world's teeming millions. Perhaps we need another cold war?
Information cannot "want" anything. What happens to data should be up to the data owner, not anyone who just happens to luck into getting his hands on it. I own my personal data, and it should be up to me who gets to use or sell it. Microsoft owns outright the s/w they sell and can mandate that you cannot copy or resell it. The GPL's, that we all love, mandate - again, it's the data owners who are doing it - what you can and cannot do with the data.
I agree. In addition, hey, Mr. Interviewer, how about proofreading? It's jarring to come across verb tense mismatches like "Since most crypto protocols... uses public-keys...". And, is the interviewer related to Yoda? - "Why is often used a money-rewarded challenge to verify a crypto algorithm?"

Jeez, lighten up, fer cryin' out loud. Did ya read the article? It doesn't give much more info than I posted, and who give's a flyin' anyway where they are, beyond being on different continents? Well, on the other hand, this is also a great example of cross continent collaboration.
Ask about the number of jobs created here by foreign companies!
In addition to bashing the Bush adminstration about what it hasn't done for the great sucking sound of jobs going overseas, how about congratulations to the Bush administration for all the jobs that foreign companies that have created in opened-up facilities here, such as Japanese auto companies, German and French mfgr companies. After all, if they're responsible for the former then they must also be for the latter.
In my humble opinion: this will be nothing but Bush bashing.
ID Theft would have a new source of SSN's and personal info to gather from. Not dumpster diving for personal info, dumpster diving for a homeless person who could then be roughed up to provide SSN, mother's maiden, etc, and worse: a legally binding signature on a power of attorney, and there'd be nothing technically illegal about it.
Update: Styx "Great White Hope" came up because it had "extensive vamping"

I've used Punch for several years. It's not great-ware, but it's OK-ware once you get used to its idiosyncracies. I did this:
http:\\glengineer.tripod.com\addition
with punch.
