    I don't understand why people are so scared of cameras etc either. I listen to TalkSport radio, (in the UK) and they link up with KABC (California) on Tuesday nights.

    Alot of the American callers call up and find it amazing that we have security cameras all over the streets etc, they say "Big Brother" and then give no arguments.

    I'm glad we have security cameras, I can walk along and if anything happens I know it's on tape. Cameras are around ALL of central London, you cannot walk through a street without being on camera, this means pick-pocketing is becomming a dead art, because there are people in offices looking over you for your safety, if you're mugged, 80% of the time the thief WILL be caught (probably end up being released due to weak laws we have here now.. but thats another matter).

    I know the US is all about giving goverments as less power as possible (though that ideal is a joke nowadays) but as the criminals use technology for gain, surely we should too.

    No.. the UK is the most 'UK-Like' in Europe, it's actually America which has had it's culture derived from the UK, due to history... Which is also why the UK and US people/politicians etc etc get on with eachother alot better, no language barrier, alot of history together, and because the US has pretty much had it's everything derived from the UK, like Australia, Canada etc..

    and it's still not hard to find links with kazaa lite, or anything to do with illegal nature.

    a far more pressing issue for me is why doesn't google remove links for "kiddie porn" or "illegal porn" or "rape pics" or something?

    or is it a case of one rule for one, another for everybody else?

    I learnt morse code about 3-4 months ago, it was easy, i did it because not only is it super-geek, it's also something that can actually save your life, what's the harm in knowing something which takes a day to master?

    that PDA's are no longer needed, with mobiles which can do alot of a PDA's job (and in the next 5yrs certainly all) and a laptop doing the rest. laptops can be as small as you like now, the price is going down, performance is getting better, compatibility is ofcourse, great with all other types of input devices. i don't see a PDA niche anymore.

    right now you could full up the convertible and it would still not hold the maximum quantity of goods that customs will allow. what i wanna know is, if you get a bunch of these, like 600, then tie them up like a train, you could in theory walk across the cars to France. failing that, you could run the most successful drug smugling ring known to man!

    since when did le shuttle take 35 minutes? more like 2hours when you concider boarding, the trip then the unloading is even longer.

    yes many say the DUKs quite possibly won it on Dday for us, because of their ability to deliver supplies from ships that couldn't get further to the coast and bring them right up to the beach, this worked for amunitions, food, and troops themselves.

    so if that one won D day, surely this one would be good for something.

    they say you could take it on daytrips to france as it has a range of 50 miles (the english channel is 22miles long) so you can drive there, drive 6 miles, and drive back, just as long as none of the waves are bigger than foot you won't get wet (why they chose a convertible i`ll never know).

    that cds are too expensive, don't come with any incentives to carry on buying cd's, and don't contain enough 'freebies'. there should be a discount token in every cd you buy to give you money off buying another, and there should be track and band information with the CD, competitions etc too, at the moment it's too easy to think of reasons not to buy CDs.

    don`t mean to be a troll but half of the stuff reported to slashdot never comes in, usually it doesn't even get beyond basic planning because the tabloids cause an uproar, polls show 80%+ hate it, then the idea is aborted. it won't come in, we simply won't allow it, the goverment is balancing on a piece of string here and they wouldn't dare bring this in during this term.

    I take the view that I don't care if big brother is watching --i have nothing to hide. but i think this is a step too far, if you speed a little, jump a light a fraction of a second before its green, if you park of a yellow, etc, you'll be caught, this just goes too far, i don't think it'll be brought in though, i heard this news breaking on the radio last night, there was quite an outrage about it, it won't come in.

    of being able to watch BBC, I'm not sure how I feel about them simply giving away stuff which in the past I've had to pay for. BBC broadcasts all over the world, things like BBC America etc, this is just wrong, British taxpayers pay for the BBC, the BBC then broadcasts in other places away from the British Public, the BBC's funding should be cut, they're simply not economically viable.
