I would blame it on the internet, but then I do read a lot more on the internet than i ever would reading a book(Fiction). Plus Books like TV, and movies tend to suck a lot more nowadays.
But then it is the same even with non-fiction, it is easier to search and read than to hunt a book down in the library.
Well most people dont do this over and over again on each and every machine. That is we have GPOs (Group Policy Objects), scripting, and tons of third party apps.
All those settings were done at my end once, and i update them at the release of every service pack. For security the amount of time i waste is barely nothing
which again falls falt when you compare IIS6 and Apache 2. with IIS6 having no holes, and Apache2 having, well look it up yourself. http://www.apacheweek.com/features/security-20
My ass it did not work, I have been trying SP2 since Beta2, and I multi boot between, XP, Suse 9.1, Debian unstable, and FreeBSD. (yes I am a OS nutcase) So quit spreading FUD... You aint doing anyone a favor.
Maybe you should read a bit more about the mono project and ASP.NET. Because right now, I am running a bunch of ASP.NET/Apache2/UNIX. There is also SunOne ASP which would let you run ASP on Apache/UNIX based systems.
except that it is not one hard drive. More than likely they have 4 250GB hard drives in them. I have a similar one but it is 320GB with two 160GB hard drives in them from lacie.
Is it just me or where the hell is vbscript on there. I know most people here would rather wipe someones butt than use it, but it is one of popular scripting languages out there.
The Linspire folks have zero imagination and zero respect for other people's work. Next thing you would say is that Linux folks have no imagination because they imitated UNIX. Geez.... this is just part of evolution of anything, let it be.
With this, you merely put the calculator between the IDE and document, and rotate your view accordingly.
And that is easier than hitting Ctrl-Tab or Alt-Tab... give me a break
same with blaster, and code red, and the humteen other worms on windows. The holes were patched....
I dont think he/she is joking... it is a valid point...All it is pointing out is for people to watch out. Which a good systems admin would do, and as you point out a bad one would not have.
WMP does have all the features in itunes... Itunes is nothing special... the ipod is.
HP player is not out yet.....And where did i say WMP on OS X has a good interface....The point was simply, WMA has hell of alot more support than AAC+Apple DRM
Read into the time bomb a little more, you will realize that it used for when you subscribe to lets say Napster premium, you can download music onto your player.
well when it comes to that tax i do not agree... But at the same time i belive artists should be given some form of protection from getting ripped off....(not spears, nsync etc.) the smaller ones.
Yes....Just because you can borrow a video from the local video shop and bring it home does not make it yours.... you still dont own it. Just like you dont own Windows, just like you dont own the technology that goes into making those hard drives...
Windows WMA: Just about every media player(WMP, real, Winamp, etc), Macs(Yes they have WMP), Windows, atleast 10 different mp3 player manufacturers, and you can burn on CDs (depends on who you buy from and what rights you have
Dont talk trash unless you really know what you are talking about....

Yes but if all these companies in different fields still cannot topple MS, it also shows you the amount of power that they also have.

Might I add that they have probably the best documentation ever. It is extremely well laid out, and easy to follow. And useful, unlike man pages....
Did not notice, java & C# lacked a debugger etc.... Dont exactly think they even belong there, but i agree that the author does seem biased.

But as with most MS patches, the vulnerability is rarely ever published before patch. But if someone does decide to, we would be in hell.
But i do agree about the shrinking time period, i am just waiting for new worms that use one of the new flaws.
