What a lot of people also don't mention is the molitov cocktails that were left on the ground by the protesters and the bricks on other deadly objects flung at the national guardsmen. A lot of people also forgets that back then the national guard didn't have any of the riot protection gear available today. A brick to the head can kill.

It would be real bad publicity and customer service to not give them first shot at the equipment. If you waltz to the front of the line after they have been waiting a week I would expect a fight with you heavily outnumbered and everyone going to jail. The sidewalk at most Best Buys is private property and not a city owned side walk thus they can be kicked off, arrested for loitering, and/or trespassing if the properties owners wanted them to leave. These people are not going to break into the store and their presence will probably prevent any thefts while they are there. Also it would be bad PR to kick them off the property.

The recoil begins as soon as the round goes off. The expanding gasses push the bullet down the barrel and at the same time, Newton and all that, push against you. If you have the weapon improperly braced it will move and you will miss your target. If you hold a hand gun loosely or sideways like the gangstas your probably completely miss a person 5 feet away. Also firing an improperly braced weapon hurts. This will generally cause a huge problem because the shooter will move the weapon in anticipation of the recoil.

The TSA doesn't enter into this at all. This is about customs inspection when entering the country. When you fly from NY to CA you are not entering another country so customs doesn't have anything to do with you. You are not considered to have entered a country until you pass through that countries customs. Once you leave one country but haven't passed the others customs you are in a limbo are not really in eaither country. You could try to argue that customs should fly out and meet every international flight, transfer to the plane and conduct all business in the air but that isn't practical. The rules and assumptions of this setup predate the American Revolution. Tom Hanks did a rather amusing movie based on a worst case scenario of what could go wrong while traveling between countries.
