It'd probably be just as effective to fake the blink in photoshop. Closed eyes aren't that unique and the transitions aren't that difficult. Put the animation on a tablet, point at smartphone and boom.
You think that's bad? I recently moved countries and switched my banking details. All the stuff "safe" in my "cloud"? Gone. I cannot re-download any of the content i purchased, which I have no backups for. I wrote apple tech support and was told: "I am sorry but if you didn't back up your U.S purchases before switching countries then there's no way to have them back but to re-purchase them." This, after being a loyal apple customer for years and spending easily over 10k on their products. Needless to say, they've forced me out of their ecosystem now and I have no more reason to stay. Never ever again will I buy an apple product.
EA did not create Mass Effect. It was BioWare who did that, who EA bought (and ruined). Just look at how they ruined the Old Republic MMO and the third Mass Effect's ending which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Everything EA touches turns to shit.
Maybe you won't be able to run the OS, but it'll still be a long time before apps require 10.8. My 5 year old MBP (late 07) is supported. 5 Years isn't exactly bad. Had the 8600m GPU not burned itself out just after the warranty period, i'd probably still be using the thing.
Don't forget the Qur'an, Hadith, Sira and so on. I wouldn't exactly say those are devoid of hate speech. If you're going to argue the Bible should be blacklisted, blacklist the really harmful shit as well. It's like criminalizing pot while leaving heroin legal.
Syria IS an oil producing nation. It's one reason (apart from weapons sales, military bases, and Iran's backing) that Russia refuses to support any intervention. Stop with the nonsense about the US doing stuff for oil. Even in Iraq we didn't have any more opportunities than anybody else for oil contracts. If you repeat nonsense over and over and over it doesn't make it true. Don't blame Israel either since they recommended against intervention (they argued it would destabilize the region, and it did). Whatever the reasons we went into Iraq were, they were not those two.
Same situation here. ICS is way faster than stock 2.1 on my Galaxy S (Vibrant). There's no reason it shouldn't be. It's GPU is faster than even the iPhone 4 and drives fewer pixels. Samsung just wants you to buy a new phone (which they bloat all to hell with their crapware). Next phone I buy will be a Nexus. I'm sick of this Manufacturer/carrier bullshit and I don't like running third party roms where the camera/gpu/wifi/gps/emergency dialing may or may not work correctly or at all.
I know he claimed that he was going to announce it anyway. I just don't believe it. How convenient. It seems to me that to risk alienating the more religious portions of the black community wouldn't have been worth any potential gains of such an endorsement... I mean it's not like most gays aren't going to vote for Obama anyway. I'd have considered a courageous move if he'd done it on his own. Biden left him in a situation where he was virtually forced to make an statement of support or risk pissing off the gay community in an election season -- something that would likely be even worse than alienating any religious African Americans. As to Romney's stance on a constitutional amendment -- it really doesn't matter. The president has no say in the matter. It's like saying you want every little girl to have her own pony.
Hyperbole. A minority -- maybe 30% -- view homosexuality as a sin -- something that one can repent for and choose to live differently -- even against one's nature. Only a tiny tiny minority of that would criminalize homosexuality. I never even heard Santorum advocate that (although in Texas he did oppose legalization). None that I know of advocate the death penalty for homosexuality. Not even the Westboro Baptist Church goes that far. There is simply no biblical justification for it (at least not in the New Testament, which Christians follow). They still see it as sin, but only object to what they see as state sponsored advocacy of an alternative lifestyle. In the end what Obama will do when he is elected will be no different than Romney. You want to point out real injustices? Pick just about any Muslim country in the world where gay marriage isn't just illegal, but can also get you killed, by law or by "honor killing" which generally carries little to no penalty. I'm not saying the republican platform is good. I'm just pointing out that the reality is it could be a lot worse and until Obama grows some balls it's really no different than the democratic platform when it comes down to what will actually be done.
He switched because Biden put his foot in his mouth. No other reason. He's lucky support for gay marriage is rising. He was, however, careful to state that the issue should be left up to the states -- meaning in reality his position is no different than Romney's. As a gay man, i'll be grudgingly voting Romney in November if I vote at all as I simply prefer his politics. I won't be played used as a tool in some cynical ploy to re-elect a coward.
Oh. I'm quite sure they'll get more of a reaction than they bargained for in Singapore. Messing with religious taboos tends to bring the extremists to the forefront in even the most supposedly "moderate" Muslim countries. Take the banning of Irshad Manji's book in her native, supposedly more moderate, Malaysia. I totally support Google, not just for what they're trying to do, but for the unintended consequences. The more the west sees how "Moderates" act, the less of a cover it will provide to the religion as a whole.
You don't think the statistics in that third link might be a bit skewed because gays aren't allowed to be married? Also, back in the pre-aids era, there was indeed a culture of promiscuity. That has since changed for the most part, both by necessity and also because gays, feeling more accepted, are able to integrate better into society as a couple -- accepted into society as such and not shunned as perverts -- an identity many adopted as a rejection of "straight" society as a whole -- baby and bathwater. Bathhouses were considered a way to rebel and became part of the culture. Those who argued it was irresponsible -- advocating monogomy instead -- were in the minority. Most of those on the bathhouse side of the fence are now dead. People saw the results of how things were and the culture changed. Once being gay is considered by society as nothing special of strange and marriage is legal, I think you'll find gap in the length of relationships decreasing significantly, if not closing altogether. I've been with my partner for coming on 3 years now, and we're very happy. I hope to be with him for many more years.
The problems with running Cyanogenmod on different devices are mostly related to drivers and locked boot-loaders. If phone manufacturers would unlock their boot-loaders and provide driver source (not always in their hands), most of the problem would go away.
My GS1 (Samsung Vibrant) is running ICS. Everything works. Even camera recording at 720p, hardware video decoding, gpu, and even GPS works as good as on any official rom. You might give it a shot. Here's a link to get you started. I'm running Passion mod, which is more or less stock ICS. My partner has a Nexus S and performance is more or less identical. Why stay with 2.2? There is really no need. If you have a Samsung Captivate (ATT), or an international Galaxy S, check their dedicated forums on XDA developers. Similar roms exist across all GS1 variants.
Unlocked bootloader and the driver source so - for example - gpu performance doesn't suck. It's all fine and dandy to run ICS or JB, but without a working GPU driver, doing all that fancy UI stuff in software will totally rape the battery. There are lots of roms out there with this problem.
Sure the intent of such software might be to download Youtube videos, but who says the videos downloaded have to be copyrighted? They might be, for example, a video about Scientology or Islam that you might want to make a copy of in case it gets taken down. There are perfectly legitimate uses for video downloader services and software.
Parent is modded funny but it might actually be feasible to have a random tune generator churn out every possible combination of some length of music. You probably wouldn't be able to listen to all of it in your lifetime, but you might very well be able to copyright your "tunes", create a searchable database, and run all newly released music against it. If somebody actually did this it would be interesting to see the resulting court cases. Could by doing this somebody actually DOS the copyright system?

It's no longer bundled but if you try to run an X11 app, the OS will point you in the right direction to download X11.

How fast can you turn around (180) with a joystick? With a mouse? Does this matter if an enemy is directly behind you?

Absolutely. God forbid we disrespect his barbarity or come off as "phobic".
Why is this modded flamebait? Dude is absolutely right. Religion poisons absolutely everything.
Don't forget the Qur'an, Hadith, Sira and so on. I wouldn't exactly say those are devoid of hate speech. If you're going to argue the Bible should be blacklisted, blacklist the really harmful shit as well. It's like criminalizing pot while leaving heroin legal.
Religious moderation simply provides cover to extremists. Nothing good comes from religion without all the baggage.

ideally I agree, but that's a much harder sell.

Because existing laws are written with the word "marriage". It's much easier to legalize marriage than do a find/replace on the entire of the law.
