I find that all the time I've used Windows (since 3.1), I've never had to call tech support, and most users would be fine without ever calling. Most users will just stay with the older, outdated systems then upgrade, so Microsoft can get even more money from the few people that do call in with Windows 98 issues as last I checked they still made you pay by the minute. It doesn't require as much effort to patch an issue in 98, and the amount of money from tech support that you could rake in from keeping it supported could be a very considerable amount.
OSNews is showing the slashdot effect so I can't read the article, but I'm assuming that this was all tested on one version of Windows, like XP. In my personal experience, I found that some programs run faster in other versions, and I found the Java programs ran faster in Windows 98/ME then in XP, so I wonder if this was taken into account and if it wasn't, how much of a difference it would make.
If there are much worse games out there, why are they forcing Rockstar to pull there product out of stores. Other then saying that haitians were being killed in the game. If you play most WW2 sims, you are killing germans or japanesse. Is there a bigger reason behind this, like the start of censoring games. If you think about it, you start with something pretty small like this, and then you start targeting everything else, and make alot of money out of it at the same time.
Well, while in Adult mode (which if I remember DN3d ships in), the blood is alot worse then in GTA, and sometimes you see the monsters just slowly die.
Why the heck would they want to ban GTA while I see worse things every day when I go to my local CompUSA. I mean Duke Nukem 3d had women flashing or pole dancing in it, and I still see that on the shelf when I go to CompUSA. In GTA3, at most, with women, you see a van shaking back and forth. What is this world coming to ?
It's not possiable w/ Mail.app as far as I know, but my solution to this was to change where UW IMAPd uses for imap mail. It works fine, my home folder doesn't get messy, and I don't get junk. I'm too lazy to look up the correct line, but there is an article on Stepwise about it; it's undewr the Pre-Mac OS X10.1 section. I just recommend you put it in ~/.mail instead of Library/Mailboxs as the article says
They also have WinGIMP, which is basically GIMP for Windows. The only difference is you are overpriced for WinGIMP, while GIMP for Windows is free. Do I hear a Microsoft-like plan here (aka ripping off users by making them buy overpriced crud) ?
According to Musicmatchs's Web Site, the service is for US residents only. There is a clear screenshop of there music store, and it looks like crap compared to iTMS.
I have to agree with you, Windows is a compelete hassle, and I really wouldn't care for Longhorn, even if MS made to run on macs !. All but one of my machines use Linux or Mac OS X. My last computer runs WinXP because I have a few games I want to play:-P
If you check there link to the music store (I can't post it as it uses Javascript), you'll notice it's almost extactly the same as the iTMS. Music can be on upto three PCs, you can burn to CD, songs are 99 cents with most full CDs $9.99. It's like they copyed the iTMS and made an clone of it.
I noticed that too. However, of all the programs on my iBool, RealOne is the only one that keeps crashing randomally. The worst part is sometimes when it crashs for me, I have to log in via SSH and run kill to get rid of it. It's amazing how crappy commerialware can be:-P

... and not a single one in New York, one of the largest cities in the US.

No, it's the link on that page "What 99 cents gets you" that I'm talking about.
