The players are expected to sell for between about $700 to $800.
For that type of money, I could get a used laptop which would run Linux and be twice as useful. Bah, I knew M$ were penny pintcher but this is nuts...
I can remember target marketing directly at women as far back as the 70s. Lionel released it's "Lady Lionel" which had simpiler instructions, all pink and blue cars, and is now a very valuable collectors item. However, at the time, the Lady Lionel compeletely flopped and it did more harm them good to the Lionel train company.
Well, when they hook up SCO's toliets...

... but as far as I can see, Microsoft market share could increase if SCO won this case. If you look at it, Microsoft was in a win-win situation. They were attacking open source software through SCO, and pumping SCO full of money. If SCO won, then some users might switch back to Microsoft, thus increasing there market share, and no one would relieze that they helped to this. Now, if, from what I understand about the law, isn't it illegal for Microsoft to help SCO in this case because of how this could help M$ ?
Actually, this data, eventhough hidden from view normally, can be entered in a case directly against SCO. There was a similar case where Laywer A was attempting to setting with Laywer B, and there client was going to settle on a much higher amount, but Laywer B had them decrease it... and you guessed it, they were using MS Word, so the orginial text of the higher amount was saved, and got sent to Laywer A, who noticed it, and then was able to force Laywer B and his client to settle on the higher amount. I could see this being entered as SCO was attempting to sue anyone, once there was ANY shred of proof the company was connected to Linux. This might just be another nail in the box for SCO, and for once, I have to say thanks to Micro$oft because there "feature" (and I use that term lightly) might just help SCO loose.
I'd buy one so when SCO is shown as a a lying bastard, I can prove that I was there first hand to watch them go down in flames. I'll just sue then for the $699 dollars first:)
HP been shipping WordPerfect instead of Office for almost a year now (I have the ad that says that Inlcudes WordPerfect 2003 Standerd on Every Model(. Also, I have one of those key things from WP 5.1, for both 98, and 101-key models:). Now if they would release a mac version, I could forever de-MS my Mac.
Over half of my school still uses Windows NT, even though they did het hacked a few times. They finnally got a XP site license for the student computers, but the staff ones still use NT
If I remember, Netscape 4 for Mac had this (although I'm not sure if it made it into Mozilla, or Netscape 6). It appears that IE for Windows has it.I am pretty sure LaunchCast uses it as it did some weird things with the windows.
Why not make an API and some glue code so Aqua apps can be compiled on other platforms without problems. I could make SomeRandomProgram compeletely with Carbon (which is pure C/C++), and then take that same code, link against a glue-API, and have the same program work in X11. The same idea could be done with binaries, although only NetBSD has any Mach-O support...
I can just open my RSS reader and know if the cd I want has (finnally) made it to the iTMS, and not have to bother searching whats new. I'm happy that it's easily to see what's new, even though you still do need an additional program.
Does this symlink itself over GCC or does it add itself to gcc_select so you could do sudo gcc_select xl and get the new compiler. I know using variables that you can get Project Builder/XCode to use a different compier or send different flags. I think now there is a bit of compeletion in the PPC compiler, maybe GCC will get faster.
Windows will still include Windows Media Player, so anyone could use it instead of the including iTunes software. Users now have a choice, and MS is worried that they will loose userbase to the better software.
FreeBSD currently doesn't run on the PPC platform, which prevents me from using it on my iBook, but NetBSD, which (as far as I know) is simlar to FreeBSD has a working PPC port. So this is what I'm wondering, why not just use the NetBSD bootloader to load the FreeBSD kernel. It can easily be compiled for the ELF format, and OpenFirmware on macs know how to load that type of kernel. I'm not a expert when it comes to these things, so could someone please explain why no one has tryed using the FreeBSD kernel with the NetBSD bootloader (or loading it raw into OpenFirmware) ?

I guess that this is how the US goverment is saving lifes and keeping secerts secert. They aren't using software that is as open as swiss cheese.
I just hope no one builds one with Windows because we know what will happen. We will have a robot that goes nuts and explodes when it BSODs.
NOOOOOOOO !, That more mind warping then looking at Darl McBride and Bill Gates making out ....

When I read the Article Title, I though Apple was going to litterary grow 10 billion dollars with the money tree they stole from Microsoft.

That in two weeks we will read the headline "SCO (Finnally) Sues Linux User" and under it "was-the-first-one-lost-in-the-mail dept."
