loop-AES uses iterations of MD5 to generete the final encryption password. On my config i hash my passphrase 1 000 000 times. Which makes the delay significant.
I even know few people who never open more than one browser window, viewing all pages in tabs; I hope they do not try to glue a daily set of newspapers together before reading them...
there is a expoit for this flaw now though. It takes 4-6 hours of full cpu usage on the vurnable host to get root. It uses some very itricate memory operations that seems to do something usefull but i sure can't explain what the hell is going on.

but when your system is fried, good luck getting to google.
AFAIK there was exploit code (aka poc code) out before the sasser worm was created. He just made the spreading/scanning functions. And after some more analyzis even the FTP server code was taken form somewhere else.
"Ummmmmmm, what the fuck is this supposed to mean?
This is only true for newbies. Experienced programmes in any language can figure what stuff means, even if they looking at code they dident write themselvs.
because I for one am a little pissed about the delay
Valve would have delayed it anyway. The "hack" is just a convenient
scrap goat. Looking at the code that got out in the wild it's quite
obvious that valve had a long way till release
Microsoft is suing some guy named Mike Rowe, with a web designing company named "Mike Rowe Soft". Somehow "Mic ro soft" thinks his name is threatening their trade marks.
But what IPv6 boosters won't tell you, unless you press them, is that every new IPv6 nameserver, Web server, Web browser, and so on has new code--code in which security problems may lurk. Indeed, security problems with new protocol implementations are to be expected. And while some issues have been found with these new IPv6 servers, more are sure to be discovered.
You can't just blame a protocol for bad programming.
for those of us that dosen't like to view the movies in our browsers.

I like to call it Infestation Express

What! someone has less than 5 PC's?
It's Not german! and it works just fine in FireFox! :)

It's only wrong because the law says so. i don't think it's moraly wrong. The people that need software buy it, those who don't, pirate it.
meh... if you want really good HD encryption i suggest loop-AES.
loop-aes.sf.net.
Ok.. just why. Woulden't it be easier to use tiny ROM's? or even some kind of magnetic card?
PERL is not ugly at all, to a perl hacker like me perl looks and flows better than any poem.
( And is understable unlike some lyrics )
YES! Exactly! Perl is GREAT! Once you get into the syntax you can write code faster than any Python zealot.

AFAIK not for pirating games. but for having child porn.
Dream Hack (Sweden) and The Gathering is fighting for the title "biggest". AFAIK The Gathering is leading by a few hundered PC's .
:)
br> btw, I got my tickets. See you there
uh oh.. so anyone not using .net and asp, but uses php instead, are not Web Designers??
Thats just moronic.
IE is broken! get over it.

opening up all sorts of security problems.
Including the horrible security monster called P2P.
This guy must be a RIAA employee

There are so many IPv6 addresses that humanity will never run out of them--never, ever.
The researches that made ipv4 probaly said the same thing.
Does this release fix the do_mremap() exploit? I coulden't find it in the changelog. I got the impression from security sites that 2.6.0 had this bug.
