  1. Nostalgia on Classic TradeWars 2002 Sold · · Score: 1

I used to love those days when we could play a game of tradewars for days on end, literally!!! Now the closest you can come is something like Solar Empire (for free anyway). The problem with games now in the luser effect. Why do people find it fun/funny to disrupt the gameplay and abuse the system. They're he reason we can't play the great games we used to like we used to.

I think it's stupid that our national security services spent time and resources spying on international coorporations. They had a justified reason that I agree with, but the fact remains, if they had something they could use against those companies they still wouldn't beable to use it because they they'd have to admit they were monitoring communications. It would spawn a firestorm in the political world. Surely someone had to realize this...that even if we did get some good dirt we'd have a hard time using it against anyone, what do we pay those goons for anyway? Heh, i still think it's better that they're spying on someone besides me, can't argue with that....

I didn't get a tracking number from all the vendors, but the ones I did get, the shipping companies gave pretty good timeframes for shipping. I really don't see where AC gets all their 'statistics' and after the cnn article and this back to back, I think we need to urge the media to be more responsible, if you don't understand it, don't try to report on it. The article discussed using a HTTP request for a gif to send your email address to the web server. Then the server would set a cookie on your system. With Outlook in the "Restricted' zone, cookies are disabled (unless you messed with the settings) and thus, a cookie would not be set(unless there's another bug somewhere I don't know about). When you later visit the site that spammed you, there is no cookie because outlook didn't save it.

You can still enjoy the safe features of HTML Email (however pointless they may be) and be protected from most of the recent Outlook Exploits at the same time.

I have been using plain text email for years and I see no reason to switch to HTML Email. I have outlook to send HTML Mail automatically, unless I'm replying to someone who sent mail to me in plain text. This way, basically all I'm using HTML Email for is to tell how sophificated the software of the reciepent/sender is ;-) I don't see a need for HTML Email, but I assume the 36 million people (99.9% lamers, unless they read /. of course) demand backgrounds and the ability to send emails to their friends with big, underlined annoying text. Tthat's my opinion on the matter anywhoo.

The plant has enough problems, If they need power then shut down some of their polluting industrial factories, more power for everyone else. They can also buy power, the US buys power from canada on a daily basis, and at other times, we sell it to them, a country's power grid is not 'closed.' How cute!

Why did we win the Gulf War? We were so far advanced from the Iraquis that they didn't stand a chance. That was when we realized we have to stay ahead(or at least some of us did). I would say that we should keep this advantage. Hopefully now that we have a little competition, our own ingenuity will kick in and start cranking out some cool new stuff.

Anyway, back to China...They're becomming a bigger threat to us now that they can send manned missions into space (don't ask me how, that just sounded good). We need to stop lolly-gagging around in the China-policy area, and stop ingoring everything they do against us and create a policy to keep them in check. My two cents :-)
